My husband , Mario, and I went to see JERSEY BOYS last night Friday, Oct 21.
From the moment you appeared on stage to the moment you exited with the rest
of the cast, it was non-stop pure entertainment. We both have been fans of
Frankie Valli for decades and were so thrilled when we met Marshall Brickman and
Rick Elice back in March, 2005 at a Frankie Valli concert in Lehman College
in the Bronx, they happened to be sitting right in front of us in the audience
and Frankie introduced them while he was on stage. We spoke to them for
quite a time after the show and Marshall had the JERSEY BOYS hat from the show in
LaHoya show and gave it to my husband
He told us that JERSEY BOYS would be opening this fall (2005 ) in New
York.....We'll we were both so excited and as soon as tickets went on sale we
immediately bought two tickets....and last night we finally saw the show.
OH WHAT A NIGHT ----is the best way to describe what a terrific electrified
performance this ensemble puts on.
Seeing the light in your eyes from the thunderous applause especially after
you sang "SHERRY" (which also happens to be my name) it brought chills up and
down my spine.....You are so refreshing , charming, energetic and your charisma
is absolutely
top-notch. The audience just loved every minute of this show which has an
abundant of talent performing.
We hope to see the show again in the not too distant future and wish you and
the rest of the cast much continued success and may it enjoy a long deserved
run on Broadway.
SHERRY

So good to see that we've all graduated from second grade. grow up carl.
this is clearly a woman who enjoyed the show. the show doesn' need shills on a chat board. it's selling fine and if the buzz around the show says anything about the future of it, it won't need shills anytime soon.
not to mention the fact, if she truly was a shill, she'd probably realize that writing a letter to an actor on broadwayworld isn't going to get it read by the actor.
i agree about JLY's performance...my mother also knew and even worked with frankie valli and i'm sure she would have the same things to say about his performance.
lose the attitude.

your maturity figures into the situation in that you are making an assumption about someone you know nothing about. You are drawing a conclusion and attacking someone with absolutely no reason for it.
Find something better to do with your time if that's all you're good for. Go outside and play with your friends, I hear Jimmy got a new PS2 game!

Thats really funny. Yeah I know nothing, nothing at all. And I'm a child.....well now, who is making the general assumptions and personal attacks about something?
My initial post was not an attack, like yours to me was, I said one simple word. Shill. Anything beyond that was discussion. I mean ok yeah I threw out the word shill but since then I have been called, A pothead, a child, a know nothing and a second grader. So I'll stand by my initial post and let you two look like the children.

Posted: 10/24/05 at 4:06pmThe word "shill" implies someone who is paid by the producers to tout a show or maybe some other financially interested party, like a member of the cast or crew. I've seen one of those posting incognito on this board. But, as was pointed out, jerseyboysfan2, who started this particular exchange, is not trained in the art of subtle touting. She's most probably a big fan of the Four Seasons. Maybe newbie Jersey Boys fanatics who are mainly interested in the Seasons, rather than theater in general, are not welcome on this board of more objective theater lovers. But I suggest they be told to go away more politely and not be falsely accused of being shills.

Posted: 10/24/05 at 4:41pmI didn't sense 'shill' either when I read the post. Having seen the show twice, I have yet to hear any bad buzz in the audience, men's room, stairways, etc. But it does seem to appeal to those of us 'of a certain age' who are old enough to remember the Four Seasons. Very few 20-somethings were in the audience. Jerseyboysfan2 sounds genuinely thrilled by the show. FWIW, my 51-yo partner (who is not a big bway fan) just loved the show and thought JLY was amazing. He kept talking about him all through dinner. Not only that, he said the big 40-something guy next to him was wiping away tears all through the performance. Strange as it seems, this show is touching people in a very special way. Maybe it's the theme of struggling to make it big only to have to give up your family to keep your success that strikes a chord (no pun intended) with us middle-aged folks, but this is not just some piece of Mamma Mia fluff. It's got a good, solid book, excellent songs, and stellar performances. I think it will be a big hit. And I got the credit card receipts to prove that nobody's buying my theatre tickets but me.

This message is to Carl Magnum.
So bigshot who does not have a clue what a great show is..
Are you mature enough to read a newspaper or see the RAVE RAVE
reviews ths show is getting.
No wonder you are such a loser, you cannot see further than your own nose. Keep smoking your weed and maybe you will find a REAL LIFE....
