Hello! Has anyone seen the Broadway version and a US tour version of “& Juliet”? I was wondering what the main differences were between the two, more specifically what the tour is missing from the Broadway show. I’ve seen the Broadway show but my sister in AZ is seeing the tour in November. I’m assuming the turntable is not in the tour. Is Romeo’s entrance at the end of Act 1 the same? Is “One More Try” staged the same way? Is “Blow” staged the same way? (Trying not to give spoilers) Thank you in advance!

No trapdoors, no turntable, and no lift.

Shakespeare makes his first entrance behind the “ROMEO & JULIET” signs as they rise up into the wings.

Lord and Lady Capulet simply walk off stage left after their parts in “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.”

Anne pushes Romeo offstage towards the end of “Since U Been Gone.”

Romeo still flies in for “It’s My Life.”

Francois hops over the DJ station to get to his virginal (sneaking behind it during the set transition after “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.” )

The virginal gets scooted on / offstage on wheels.

The Ferris wheel for “One More Try” is now just a moon with no bench - a tiny platform.

No doors for the curtain used before “Blow.” Cast members just walk off into the wings.

Oh look, a bibu!

Hi Cowboysfan84,

I just got back from seeing the final Saturday night performance of the & Juliet tour’s San Francisco run. If she never saw it on Broadway, she won’t feel like she missed anything.

I never saw the show on Broadway, as I am not really the target audience for the musical. But the performances by Rachel Simone Webb as Juliet and especially Teal Wicks and Corey Mach as Anne and William Shakespeare are excellent. It was as much fun for me watching the audience’s enthusiastic reaction as the show itself. It was really more like a Broadway audience. It was worth the $40 in-person rush tickets for me.

If your sister likes the Max Martin hits, she will have a great time.
