Mr. Mason, who later found Broadway success with one-man shows like “Jackie Mason’s The World According to Me,” had few words of advice for “Spider-Man,” which he described as “a war zone.”
“Nobody was getting killed during my show,” he said. “I was the only guy getting killed — by the critics. But I had the decency not to kill other people.”
