Jai Rodreguiz

I recently got the Zanna Don't CD, and I never realized what a great singer he was. He has amazing range, from singing really low in "Blow Winds" (the beginning) and singing high falsetto in "Be A Man" that I could not believe it!!! Has he been in any other shows besides Zanna Don't and his January 31st show?
He's so adorable when his voice squeaks on the cd! Aww!
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Oh yeah, I forgot he was in that! And I have his picture as Angel up on the wall of my room..I heard there was talk of him reprising the role of Angel in Rent sometime this year...?

Eh, he's okay. Now that he's always on television, I can't really get past the fact that he's one of the "Fab Five." So it ruins his performances for me.

By the way, it's Jai RODRIGUEZ. Just so you know for future reference... :)

Actually, the "low" parts of the song just sound low because he's singing them. He's a raging tenor if I've ever heard one. I really wish he could have played Zanna on Broadway. Oh well. John Tartaglia will be great.

I saw him "Spinning Into Butter" at Lincoln Center when he was still unknown several years ago opposite Hope Davis and remember him being quite good.

re: Jai Rodriguez

He's a great singer and A great angel to be sure. And I dont really mind him on Queer Eye (used to be a religious fan of the show.) Though I still stick with the original Angel as the best, Jai has got a great voice and does a fabulous Angel.

re: Jai Rodriguez

margo, he wasn't exactly unknown when he was in Spinning into Butter. He'd been in Rent for a year in Canada and in the Broadway cast for more than a year and a half at that point.

There are no current plans for Jai to return to Rent. He was back for a couple of short stints last year.

re: Jai Rodriguez

He wanted to play Angel in the movie version desperately. There was an interview floating around online quoting him that he "would cry if (he) doesn't get the role." re: Jai Rodriguez
