He's probably one of the 'Keep it Gay' people. I'm not joking either. That just seems like the only logical role for him to play. There are a few of celebs with bit roles in this movie.

re: Jai in Producers film

Keep it Gay is probably most likely but he would be a scream as one of the auditioning Hitlers.

I THINK he's one of Roger DeBris' assistants.

Jai plays Sabu.

I saw his name on imdb.com a while ago and was so excited! He's perfect for the film.

Oh I can't wait for this movie...

With all the celebrities in this film, it's a shame they couldn't afford Loretta Swit's asking price when they wanted her to play Ulla. Even I would have seen the fiolm for that!

re: Jai in Producers film

I'm beginning to wonder if Loretta Swit wasn't cast in THE PRODUCERS movie because Mel Brooks found out she's Polish.

Hmmm....I wonder if any other Polish people were cast in this film?

Nathan is Irish
Matthew is Jewish
Hugh Is Australian
Jai is Puerto Rican

....I'm not coming up with any Poles.

Hugh is playing the Tenor in "Springtime for Hitler" Obviously his voice will be dubbed.

re: Jai in Producers film

The Lead Tenor is being played by John Barrowman, not Hugh. That was just a rumor.

re: Jai in Producers film

Well, John Barrowman isn't Polis either.

The plot thickens!!!!!

I too can't understand why Loretta Swit was overlooked Dollypop. Maybe she'll get her chance in Dreamgirls. We can only hope, and pray.

re: Jai in Producers film

I don't think too many Polish people are going to be cast in DREAMGIRLS.

Loretta Swit would be nice, but I'm most upset that they didn't give it Cady Hauffman... re: Jai in Producers film
I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

re: Jai in Producers film

Something tells me that, when this film comes out on DVD, there will be lots of Broadway fans snapping it up and rewinding and pausing to see all the cameos and faces they recognize. Like insider stuff. Perfect for this movie since the musical was all about theatrical and literary insider jokes that most audience members don't get anyway...nor will the Kansas corn belt recognize the many Broadway and stage faces we will swoon over.
