James Barbour at Sardi's Question
#1James Barbour at Sardi's Question
Posted: 2/13/09 at 3:43pmI am going to see James Barbour at Sardi's on Sunday at 4 pm. I just found out that the kitchen closes from 3-4 on Sundays, so we can either arrive early at 2 and eat before the show downstairs or eat something during the show. For those who have attended his concerts, do many people eat during the show? Sounds like it would be distracting to both the audience and the performers. However, since there is a food and drink minimum, and the kitchen doesn't open until 4 pm, I guess it can't be avoided. What was your experience? Thanks!

For the Christmas concerts they had a "Concert Menu". Not a huge selection. I remember I had a sandwich that came with fries. They'll probably have the same thing this time.
Do you know who will be the guests on Sunday?

Joanna Pacitti is the rumored guest on Sunday.
Don't know about the brunch.

Posted: 2/21/09 at 4:16pmAnother question, did he extend his concerts? when I checked on smarttix it looked like he had extended through March, but he hasn't said anything about extending in his blogs and I haven't heard anything about the concerts being extended, so I'm not sure.

He HAS extended, and tix are on sale now thru March 28th, but there will be a different set list (although, I believe the title will still be "Love Songs") - The "new" show will have more "pop/rock" songs...
Paige Davis, Patrick Page (there are such a cute couple!) and Laura Osnes were the guests tonight (Saturday)

Here's a different question -
Does anyone know if you buy the $25 tickets to sit at the bar you are still required to do the $25 food minimum. I really want to go this coming Saturday, but really do not want to pay $50 plus tip and tax. At Birdland, if you sit at the bar you do not have to pay the extra minimum. Anyone know?

Posted: 2/22/09 at 11:05amWhen I went to his Christmas concert I sat at the bar and had to spend the $25 minimum. It could be different for this concert though.

Posted: 2/23/09 at 12:06amIt actually looks like they're sold out of bar seats for this Saturday. I am glad he extended though, I hope to get to see one of them. And as others have said, the food and drink minimum still applies at the bar. The last time I was there, they had you show a receipt before the show if you ate before the show.

Are the concerts still going to be called "Love Songs", or did he mention something else? Good to see he's been extended :)
Again, lucky you, New Yorkers!
