James Corden

As he will host the Tonys this year and his late night television talk show is doing so well in the states I was wondering what opinions you Americans have of him?



As someone in the UK it's really nice to see someone doing so well. Looks wise he's not your stereotypical star. But his comedic talent is awesome! He also seems like just a nice guy.

I saw him in "The History Boys" and "One Man, Two Guvnors" and thought he was great, especially "One Man"

Watched the movie of "History Boys" many time and was quite impressed with him. But "Into The Woods" really shows the range of his talents. I don't watch the monologue but his late night show can be quite entertaining, I like the way he brings all the guest on at the same time (like Graham Norton does) it creates an interesting dynamic and fun interaction among the guests and Carpool Karaoke is always a blast.

Well, I first saw him on "Gavin and Stacey" so I'm rather tickled to see him make it so big.

I love James Corden! I was excited when he was announced as the host for the Tonys. He is killing it on the Late Late Show. Perfect comedic timing and delivery and he's done some pretty unique things on the show.

He has talent in spades and I just love when he sings. He isn't afraid to poke fun at himself or show his sensitive side. Once, he had Stevie Wonder call James' wife (who is a massive Stevie fan) and when Stevie sang, "I just called to say ... James loves you", James started to tear up.

He just seems like a really likeable guy. I hope one day I get to see him star in a Broadway musical.

And to answer the original question, he's pretty well liked here. We didn't get that moment of him in 2009 that DeNada mentioned. The country just had a collective "Who?" moment when CBS announced him as the host of The Late Late Show. He's done such a good job there though that most people I've talked to about it absolutely love what they've seen of it and him.

When he was initially announced to replace Crain ferguson I was kind angered and was like there no way someone can replace the perfect person that is Craig, but ever since James' first carpool karaoke I've been hooked and it's so nice that he's a Broadway fanboy. During his phantom but I could not stop laughing.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but the National Theatre Live is doing an encore screening of the UK stage production of "One Man, Two Guvnors" starring James Corden. It will be in cinemas nationwide on June 21, and tickets go on sale today (May 20). This has never aired on TV and has not been released on video, so it's a great opportunity to see this show.

Oh I'm so excited to hear that about One Man Two Guvnors! I'd been hoping to find it on DVD for a while, but it didn't appear as though one existed. So happy I'll have a chance to actually see this! The Indie-ish movie theater here that actually got The Last Five Years (which shocked me!) will be showing it! Bless theaters like this.
