I love the score to this show, don't get me wrong. But also being a fan of the novel, I found the actual production a little hard to sit through. They tried to pack too much into a relatively short amount of time. The show as a whole was less of a journey and more of a summary. This is of no fault of the performers, who were fantastic. And the lighting design was also beautiful. I think the fault of this show was the book. It would be great if it was reworked, or maybe aspects of the productions previous to broadway were put back in(I am not familiar with those productions though, so i am just guessing), and the show grows legs in regional productions. The score deserves to be heard!
I picked up a copy of this a few months ago.
It's definitely a show I wish I could've seen.
Of course, it helps that the novel has always been one of my favorites...to the point that friends joke I've memorized it.
Did I spy Anthony Crivello's name? Loved him as Javert...
A local college did this show last year and did an incredible job! The most unique part about the show was unique scenic design which had everything upside down. The stage was painted like clouds and there were trees hanging from the ceiling. It was a wonderful show!
He was the original Rochester in Wichita and Toronto. And believe me, Gingersnap, he was nothing short of brilliant. Whenever I read the book, he is all I see. Starting in La Jolla, he was replaced by James Barbour.

I loved Jane Eyre and Marla Schaffel. She is amazing in A Broadway Diva Christmas. It is so great to get to see her on stage in New York again.
