Jane Krakowski to leave Nine October 5th!

Alice could have a nice shot. I think she would be good and it would be kind of fun to see her on broadway when Little Shop Of Horrors is on there too.

What about Emily Skinner?

I really shouldn't even reply to that comment. I'm sure it was just meant for a few laughs, but I'm so sick of hearing the 'Emily is a big heifer' jokes. She's gorgeous no matter what her size. For the record, she's recently lost a lot of weight and looks fabulous, so leave the poor woman alone.

I do think Emily would be an amazing Carla (though I'm not sure I'd want to watch her as Carla... her little stints in Albertine were scarring enough). I think she's much more suited for the role than Alice. I don't know if it's a part she'd actually want to play, though. She *did* look slightly alarmed when I expressed to her my need to play the part. LOL.

I'm still sticking to Sherie Rene on this one.

There's very little purpose to these suggested replacement threads anymore. The same talent pool of 10-12 actors is always, ALWAYS mentioned. Can we all just agree that Alice, Sherie, and Emily will always be perfect for whatever role needs filling?

I think that the problem with the talen pool, is that even though Sherie, Alice, Emily are all incredible there are others out there. Some who made big splashes in the 80s.

How many actress need a good role again? Many! But I guess cause the three I mentioned have been in our ears for the past couple years we think of them first.

Well, Frances is British so that's why we're not seeing here as much.

Amy Spanger wouldn't be able to join. She has a six-month contract with Urinetown.

Remember that these people have to work for what Roundabout pays, so think of former casts of CABARET, SHE LOVES ME, LITTLE ME or FOLLIES. Alice Ripley will be in SHAKESPEARE IN HOLLYWOOD when Jane leaves. (Jane Leaves for Luisa? Nah FRAISER will still be filming.)

Alice Ripley does a searing version of Call from the Vatican on the Maury Yeston Songbook CD. I think she would be a great Carla.

Why the need to make Emily Skinner fat jokes?? Really? I thought Hollywood was supposed to be the place where looks are valued over talent, and to be a size 8 is to be considered grossly overweight. Not Broadway. Emily Skinner is a gorgeous woman, period.

I think that Rachel York would also be an amazing Carla. She needs to get her overtalented self back on Broadway.

Michael Reidel wrote a whole column in the Post about how she was fighting during rehearsals with Neil Simon.

I also heard that she cried alot during rehearsals.
