Posted: 8/15/05 at 10:06amIt's odd that I just noticed this thread because last night I was listening to the showtunes channel while doing ten other things and suddenly this beautiful song comes on..and I look up and I see that it's called: I honestly love you. And in those few minutes I fell in love with the song and Jarrod Emick's voice. And now i come to the boards today and I see this. so, YAY. I'm a new (veerrry new) fan of his too..and I'm thinking about getting the Boy from Oz now..I had never really considered it before. Does anyone know if he has any larger roles featured on a cd?

Dollypop - In answer to your question : Waiting for the Moon (Wildhorn) is in the process of being rewritten and worked on further - some demo recordings have been done including some tracks by Emick after the show closed in NJ last month.
Emick now in Buffalo in "Ring of Fire : The Johnny Cash Musical Show" til first week of October...and I guess you could call him "leading" it although actually it is an ensemble revue and he is one of six singers (plus onstage musicians) - and the material is parcelled out fairly equally. It is not the story of Johnny Cash or any of the Carter-Cash family (the upcoming film this fall "I Walk the Line" will take care of that)- it is a pure revue of music associated with Cash - as directed by Richard Maltby (whos latest similar revue was the Barry Mann/Cynthia Weill "They Wrote That" at the Promenade in NYC).
But as posted elsewhere on this board, Emick is terrific doing country music and all those who think of him as only a Broadway music type singer will be amazed (Dollypop, you will possibly be disappointed? Not sure of your stance on country & western????
But this sure ain't "Broadway show tunes").
