Would someone share details about Jason Tam's last day on "A Chorus Line." I've wondered sometimes how Broadway performers deal with their ending participation in a show. Thanks... RC in Austin, Texas... T.O.P.L.F.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I wasn't there but I am reporting what I heard. Apparently Jason was just as good as he usually is. It wasn't that much more emotional than usual, though he got applause both immediately after the monologue and then again right before the rest of the cast came back to do "One" the first time. He also got big applause at the curtain call.

Jessica Lea Patty was on as Cassie and apparently she was absolutely amazing. I heard she danced and sang the hell out of "Music and the Mirror".

Nadine Isenegger was on as Val, and apparently was good, but not as good as Jessica Lyn Goldyn.

Oooh oops. I thought you wrote that he got a big applause when the cast appeared in "One Reprise" and that they actually did a curtain call. Sorry!

I saw Nadine as Val on Friday night. Needless to say, I missed Jessica a whole lot.

Jason was as amazing as ever. This time I brought my binoculars and could see his eyes glistening with tears as he delivered the monologue. Whether it was emotion or just an excellent actor delivering a believable performace, I don't know.

Interestingly, the Playbill did not list Jason in the role of Paul. It listed Bryan Knowlton and there was no slip inserted, nor a sign in the lobby. I thought Equity required this, but I'm no expert.
