I haven't seen anything good at the Public since "See What I Wanna Seee', can't wait to see this!
And I love that I can walk to NoHo to see this.
Super excited.

WOW! I never thought I'd see Fun Home made into a musical.
To give MAJOR SPOILERS...
The comic/graphic novel/whatever you want to call it is autobiographical; it's about Alison Bechdel's relationship with her father as she discovers her own homosexuality while he represses his before committing suicide.
So more of a CAROLINE OR CHANGE than a MILLIE or a SHREK from Ms Tesori!
I think Judy Kuhn will be sensational in it. But then I think she's sensational in everything.

Tesori has been quoted with saying something along the lines of, "I write one show for me, one show for the commercial theatre, one show for me, one show for the commercial theatre..." etc.

P.S. These are two of my all-time favorite writers. I'm pumped.
And Judy Kuhn! I plan on making a trip to see this!
I love everything about this.
It's playing in the 99-seat Shiva Theater and is going to sell out FAST. Buy tickets as soon as you can. Especially since they're only $15.
I wonder where Tesori classifies her work on Disney's direct to DVD sequels in that quote? :P
Anyway, I'd LOVE to see this, and hope it gets recorded. Alison Bechdel's graphic novel is *amazing* (though I think I actually enjoyed the sequel that came out recently, about her relationship with her mother, Are You My Mother?, even more--which has a great riff on A Little Night Music in it--http://****yeahstephensondheim.tumblr.com/post/26288280521/a-little-night-music-features-rather-prominently).

I'm surprised Ms. Tesori hasn't done a full theatrical project for Disney.

With this and Giant, looks like I'll be spending a decent amount of time downtown this season. Very excited!

Not theatrical, but she was briefly tied to the upcoming animated Snow Queen film after Menken's "dark" score was dropped. Her work for their animated sequels (Mermaid III, Mulan II, etc) is pretty mediocre, not that I blame her considering the films...
Will this take Kuhn out of PASSION, or do the two not overlap?
Anyways, it's amazingly exciting.
Kuhn is never out of passion. Or, thank goodness, fashion.
(Oh, you mean the show.)
