I unfortunately will not be able to attend...but is anyone else going to this tonight?

Looks like they actually (based on the one song Alive) went back to some of the older orchestrations of the show. Apparently Girls of the Night will be included too!, so I wonder if this is just going to be like a concert / live performance of the 2nd Concept Album with Warlow, Eder & Carmello??

If anyone goes please post a review I'd love to hear how the girls performed especially!

They'd be smart to do it the music like that off the 1994 Concept Album. It's far superior to any other Jekyll & Hyde CD I've ever listened to.

I envy anyone whose going. Please report back! =)

I'd rather take the more "classical" sounding Jekyll & HYDE that was on Broadway rather than the 1980's orchestrations that were still on that record. The song choices? Sure, but I wonder why / if they did go back to the older orchestrations. One of the few major improvments the Broadway team did.

Speaking of which, I wonder if they'll add in "Good n Evil" too. It's also spoke of that it could slip its way back in (since Hyde in the liscensed/all other versions goes to Red Rat a few times...) but it yet to have done so. I don't think Frank Wildhorn is apart of this though..?!

Please please report back though!

I don't know what is, but I just find the orchestrations on the Warlow CD sounds so full; like a full orchestra. On the OBCR, This is the Moment, Someone Like You, and A New Life have little to no introduction at all.

The 1990 Conept Album with Colm Wilkinson and Linda Eder sounds like an uplifting 80s CD.

Well, both in the show on Broadway and on CD "This is the Moment" and "Someone Like You" come out of the previous song. "Now There is No Choice" basically sets up "This is the Moment" and "Someone Like You" emerges from "Sympathy Tenderness" with a little bit of dialogue on stage that wasn't recorded for the CD. "A New Life" has a 30 second intro that served as a bit of underscore on stage. I don't see why that's on the list.

My wife and I attended this with our 14 year old son last night. WOW! 14 years ago my wife and I saw the production at the Schubert in New Haven. It blew us away and we have missed seeing it ever since. It is the kind of production you can see numerous times. As for last night... The lead (Robert Petkoff) is nothing short of incredible. Fortunately, He was able to shrug off an early vocal entrance right out of the gate. I felt bad, but he laughed it off and gave a flawless performance thereafter. His vocal performance on "Confrontation" was chilling. That is the only word to discribe what it felt like. Goosebumps. AWESOME. The applause was deafening. The ladies... (Brooke Sunny Moriber and Jennifer Hallie Rosen)were perfect. I only wish that their microphones were evenly matched for their duet. Jennifer has such power. Brooke is awesome also but not quite as much volume. I was partial to Jennifer's performance. My wife and son liked Brooke's performance better. That's good I guess. They were both fantastic. My son had never seen a performance of Jekyll & Hyde so his comments as a first timer were... The only perfromers who had headset mics were the four leads. This made it hard to hear dialog from supporting players and follow the story line if you don't know the story. Thank goodnes the musical score is so well written that the music helped him through it. He asked a few questions about who exactly Lucy was (a prostitute?) Keep in mind he's young, but he got it.The relationship between Doctor & Lawyer... The time and place settings... etc. These are also vague because there were no prop or scene changes. Just great vocal performances to tell the story. I personally think it is a pity that such a performance is limited to only one night. Jekyll and Hyde by Wildhorn & Bricusse is always given to us as a tease. I realize that it was a very expensive production originally, but if other less impressive shows can run and tour for years, someone needs to put this particular production back into production. (without David Hasselhoff, pa-leeeeeaze!) I thank God that we were able to visit this incredible score done live one more time. Another fourteen years to hear it again would be unfortunate. I am also grateful to hear such wonderful performers capture the feel of the original performers that I remember (Anthony Warlow, Linda Eder and Carolee Carmello). Those of you who could not attend... Sorry for you, really. I am glad to have been there. Also... the score last night followed the original 1994 CD realese almost to the letter (or note). Good and Evil was not in the performance. (If that is the title, I am not familiar with it.) The song called Possessed was there though; if that is what you are referring to. All in all, I will start missing Jekyll & Hyde again right now. Gotta say... there is absolutely no place like New York City to spend a day or two. P.S. Attn EVERYONE: Check out the Jekyll & Hyde Club on 6th and 49th (I think it's 49th... around there) You can't miss it, it's AWESOME. Great food, Spooky atmosphere and fun-filled performances while you eat.The $2.95 entertainment charge is added to the check but is well worth it! God bless New York....

THanks for the review davidalan!

"He asked a few questions about who exactly Lucy was (a prostitute?)"

...I believe Lucy is often reffered to (I hope jokingly) by production notes as a "saucy lounge singer"..aka prostitute.

And I agree...with all this talk of a Ragtime revival, which opened a full year later than Jekyll on Broadway, why is there no talk of a revival of this? Something makes me question if Wildhorn & co. are going to try to pull another hat trick. J&H, Wonderland and Bonnie & Clyde. Or Count of Monte Cristo, Rudolf - The Last Kiss (probably never), Waiting for the Moon or maybe he can convince Linda Eder to do Camille Claudel again. Who knows, but that's what crossed my mind. J&H revival would be amazing now, but ... with all these other projects I'd say it's still a few years off.

On a side note: the one good thing the Hoff did for Broadway's Jekyll & HYDE - get it filmed, which I will be greatful for...even if it is with him...
