I did not watch the Oscar pre-show this year, only the awards ceremony. I just came across J-Holl's pre-oscar ceremony performance on the forbidden site. And, I quote one of my friends:
When did Jennifer Holliday become a parody of herself?
It's really that bad. I mean, the woman can still sing. But all of those liberties she takes and things she adds. Her facial expressions. She contorted so much I felt like I was watching "The Exorcism of Emily Rose."
Honestly. She has a wonderful voice but she milks it to a whole new level.
In the words of Simon Cowell, "That was ghastly"
I hadn't seen anyone talking about this particular performance, best.
And I searched for it.
So perhaps you feel I'm beating a dead horse, but I have every right to start a discussion on the topic.
it was at one point maybe the thread got deleted. it was bad though.
There was a thread on it. Maybe it did get deleted.
The performance was awful.
Of course you have a "right" to start a thread about it, FOAnatic. I have a "right" to comment on it too.
This particular performance was discussed in several Oscar, pre-Oscar and post-Oscar threads... and there was one thread exclusively posted for this performance, also mentioning its availability on "the forbidden site."
Probably why it was removed.
Here is a thread where it was discussed. It is still up. Just serch Jennifer Holliday and you may find others. You have to kind of read through them.
