That's one of the opinions expressed in this Tony video chat with Goldderby's Tom O'Neil, Paul Sheehan, and Michael Musto.
Also: Why was Audra snubbed?

I haven't posted here since Muringate, but I just wanted to say, re: NO STRINGS.... Nooooo. No one wants to sit through that show again, especially those lyrics.
I'm just as puzzled as you are about Audra, though. And I don't worship her, either. I thought she was terrific.
Other than that, I'm crawling back under my rock. Peace, BWW.
I agree about the NO STRINGS lyrics. But they are heavenly compared to the tedious book.
Love the music, however.

Sat through the show at Encores and was really disappointed. Maybe it was because James Naughton was walking through the part and having trouble with his lines. (Yes, it was Encores and his wad carrying his script but still...)
I thought Jennifer snubbed as well. I liked her performance in Finding Neverland two years ago on TV --- but sadly had she starred in Finding Neverland last year, we all know no one from that musical got nominated that seasons too... so luck is not on her side right now. :/
Awe the lyrics aren't thaaaaaat bad! I find them charming.
