He retired from the business...last I heard, he was living in Boston - although over at ATC he is reported to be working on the West Coast outside of the business.

Doesn't he say he got out of the business on the commentary track on the PASSION DVD? I thought he was charming in the commentary track. In show and the video, I thought he sang well and if only his hot looks gave fire to his wooden acting. I thought Lewis Cleale and Michael Ceveris were much better as Giorgio.

he has left the business.
and he was the original choice to play joe hardy in the revival of "damn yankees"..over jarrod.
Jere is indeed out of the business, but very happy, living with his family in the Boston area. This is based on a conversation I had with him a few months ago. He's a really sweet guy...Several years ago in Boston, after performing in a show, this older couple came up to me and complemented me, saying I reminded them of their son...thinking nothing of it, I thanked them and walked away. The next night at the show, a cast member who was Jere's best man at his wedding told me that the couple who had spoken to me were his parents...all of a sudden it was a much bigger compliment!
I always wanted to see him play the Phantom of the Opera...
