All the animosity is cracking me up, y'all need to get lives. Corey was fine, I don't think I questioned his talent or abilities anywhere in this thread, I wasn't worried about him not giving a perfectly capable performance. To me, he was outshone by the ensemble but that may be the case with Jeremy as well, IMO the choreography is the real star of the show. I was just lamenting the sadness of the way this deal has been worked out because it makes it very difficult to see the performance that they have spent so much money advertising, which is not right.
Also: Jordan does not have a standby (or does he?) and his understudy is not the one going on, they are billing Cott as an alternate. Alternates, typically, have planned performances that they go on at and the schedule is typically public. It is not out of line to wonder why this should be an allowed exception to that tradition, especially when money will not be refunded over the star's absence. I mean, it's his last week and there is no information at all on what performances he will be available for her? Literally 2-3 days in advance? That's insane. Barring extreme, sudden physical illness, bronchitis, or something of that nature, it shouldn't be hard to have a dialogue between Smash and Newsies about which shows Jeremy will be capable of performing in....within the next 5 days. Come on now.
But if you guys just wanna whine and scream about how unfair and mean it all is to your beloved Jeremy Jordan, then feel free to go ahead.
