"It's also a bit stupid: generally speaking people go to a musical to hear music and have some fun, not for deep characterisation. So she didn't review it on proper terms. "
I call BS. She raved "The Harder The Come" at Stratford East and the Barbican and that's a musical.

It seems that they are selling "day tickets" at the box office. I had to go to the box office on both Friday and Saturday- I eventually managed to sell my spare tickets at face value.
Anyway it seems that they are selling the front row for £25 on the day, as the stage is so high. I half overheard something that seemed to imply that maybe the first two or three rows are also at a discount but I'm less sure of that.
Otherwise the show is probably more or less sold out at weekends. They did have a few day seats and restricted views etc on Saturday, so I had to sell my tickets privatelely. That was at about 1.30pm so it may have completely sold out by 7.30pm.
I'm just through the door from seeing the show this evening. I got the 25 pound day tix. Front row. The view was terrible to be honest. I don't know if my neck will ever be the same from the straining lol. Everyone's legs are cut off for the most part, and at one point the guys sing to the back of the stage and you can't see any of them. I had a good time all the same. It's not one of my favorite shows and I probably won't see it again. That being said, I have to give mad props to Ryan Malloy for his portrayal of Franky Valli. He really was spectacular. Great voice, great vocal stamina, some great acting moments (some not so great)But all in all, a solid performance. Much respect. The 4 leads were cast very well. More than happy to give them a standing O for their work.
I saw this the other week, I was in row E of the stalls and to be honest even my neck ached a bit at the end, so god knows what it must be like in the front row. The cast are amazing and although Ryan has an incredable voice for me the acting went to Glenn Carter - brilliant. Overall though I didnt think the show met up to its hype. Its very slick, not one weak performance, but for me lacked heart. Glad ive seen it but wouldnt go again
Well there's been a stony silence about JB on this board for months, so I thought I'd try and resuscitate this thread. At least the nay sayers who thought it wouldn't last beyond six month have been proved wrong.
Any one been recently who can update us on the performances? My last visit was in April.
Are people aware of the current student rush situation? I was told on Saturday that students can get "best available seats" (i.e not just the neck bending first row) for £25 (IIRC) one hour before the show. You need to bring student ID.
At the other end of the age spectrum, over-60s can prebook good seats for £15, but only for Tuesday matinees.
Why do you think I don't post on a Tuesday afternoon!!!!!!!!

Just heard that the cast of Jersey Boys are going to be in the Royal Variety Performance next week. It's good that the show has been selected for this honour.
I made my 26th Visit to the Jersey boys on tuesday and had a brilliant time as always. The cast seem to get better each time i see them and Ryan has a really beautiful voice. I was lucky enough to see the Broadway version with JLY whom i thought was very good but for me personally Ryan Molloy has that extra something that makes him the best Frankie well in my eyes anyway.
