Jersey Boys - John Lloyd Young out

He was out last night - very dissapointing. His understudy was OK, but nowhere near the voice we went to hear. Hopefully all is well with John and he'll be back soon!

Guess this fits with the person who said JLY was taking this week off... I forget which thread, but maybe he IS taking some vacation time?

If he is, it's very well deserved...however, I saw him perform last Friday. Does the box office tell you whether he's on vacation or not? Has anyone asked?

I thought his understudy was great. I imagine it has to be hard to be a swing in that cast since the voices of each of the Four Seasons is so different. But I think he pulled it off really well for someone who doesn't do it 8 times a week. I'd definitely like to go back and see John Lloyd Young though.

This show hasn't been open long enough for anyone in the cast to need vacation time. Perhaps he's on vocal rest?

There was an insert in the program - I noticed they didn't announce it before the performance began - are they supposed to?
