I didnt get to, do you know if the video will be put on GILG?
What was going on with JLY's voice???!!!! Did you see him struggling? It sounds like a frog in his upper register. Has this been going on for a while now? Or just because it is early in the morning for them?

He sounded like that on the Drama Desk's, too. Maybe that whole recorded voice thing is true, who knows.

I thought the audio quality sucked, more "Live's" fault than JB.
I liked the appearance on Letterman much better.
Yeah, his voice was awfully ragged. But then it is pretty early in the morning...
TT
it is also morning and he has not had much time to warm up.

Oh, please. Let's not start this 'recorded voice' thing again. If you've seen the show, you know how amazing John's voice truly is. If he was struggling this morning, and I didn't see the performance, chances are it's because it was early or the sound, as always, sucks on "Live".
Not to mention they did two shows yesterday. Who scheduled this for a Thursday???
"Maybe that whole recorded voice thing is true, who knows."
Well I know. I, and anyone who's bothered to actually read various articles rather than making assumptions based on partial information or bad reading comprehension knows as well.
JLY is NOT singing to a click track, he's not dubbed, no one is singing his high notes for him, etc etc.
In the show, to re-create the sound of Frankie Valli as it sounded on the recordings they have people backing him. This was because back when they recorded Frankie Valli's vocals, they DOUBLED his track which created part of their unique sound. Since that can't be done live, cast members sing ALONG with JLY.
And having heard JLY sing acapella, I can assure you he hits all those notes by himself each and every evening.
You can argue all you want about the audio quality of an appearance not at the Virginia Theater or whether or not you cared for the performance - but I think we can and should put an end to a baseless "witch hunt" if you will regarding this.
Very well said...thank you Craig!!
Great job Craig.
Keep in mind also that the sound mixers at Regis and Kelly haven't worked with the "Boys" before. They're basically just going along with it, so yeah, some things might be off.
Not to mention the several appearances a week in addition to their show schedule because it's award season. That's taxing on ANYONE
Off Topic:
hey Brokenlizard haven'e talked to you in a while, did you get the message about the books for daniel and JLY?
For everyone who want to know what I mean about the books for daniel and JLY send me a message and ask, I would post it on here but the guys read this.
Yes. Additionally, John is among the most talented singers around.
You better lay off or I will stick Craig on you.
PS They have been singing non stop at events in addition to the 8 times a week. I am tired just thinking about all the Jersey Boys are doing.
JLY and the rest are STARS! And the nicest people in the business so be nice.
I can't believe I am writing this, GOOD JOB CRAIG!

Does anyone know what kind of rehearsal time there is for "Live". I now Letterman does a full rehearsal to get camera angels and audio down.
I enjoyed seeing them but I wish the sound was better.
Yeah, John sounds tired but they are still wonderful. (Good post, Craig!)
They looked like they had fun, that's the important thing.
Anyone know why Daniel was out for the matinee yesterday? A friend was there. Don't know if he was there last night.

Hot damn that made my day! Gonna go watch it a few more times...
girly, when I saw Daniel after Tuesday night's show, he said he was still paying from Monday night. So maybe he just needed a day to rest his voice...
betty, love the avatar!!!!!! I had so much fun that night...you need to send me the pics, NOW
<----Issa Dan-Dan!!
You KNOW I had fun that night!! I'll send them to you right now.
Isn't great how they gave JB the last 20 minutes of the show?! Broadway performances usually only get one quick segment. I guess because Regis loved the show so much.
