Jersey Boys Rush

Has anyone here done the $25 rush for jersey boys? I was planning on trying it out in July, and I was wondering if its usually really packed, how early I should get to the box office, etc for a Friday night performance?

re: Jersey Boys Rush

I don't think they're selling out that much anymore, so I think you have a good chance of getting them, but if you want the front-row seats, you should get there before the BO opens I think, just to be safe. I once got there at 10/11-ish and got the last front-row seat. It's not usually "packed" but there is a line.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

Things will probably pick up when it's warmer, but the last time I rushed (early April), people started getting there around 8:45.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

I went last Wednesday and was alone until about 8:45, too, but for a Friday I'd be a little cautious if you really want the front row seats (there are ten total and each person in line can purchase 2 tickets). Have fun, the show is great!

Oh, and RE: Jarrod Spector as the "Broadway" Frankie at the Tonys....he was in Chicago first, bitches!! lol

YES! I miss Jarrod, had the pleasure of seeing him twice. Please let us know how Dominic is if you get the tickets! I'm sure you'll get something.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

Of the 4 Frankies I've seen, Dominic is my least favorite. I'm sure he'll grow on me in time, but there was just something vaguely unlikeable about his portrayal. Plus, he seems a little long in the tooth to play young Frankie in the beginning. Of course, I could just be biased because I'm secretly pulling for JMD to get the bump to the regular position.

That's exactly how I felt when I saw Dominic in Las Vegas.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

How are the JB rush seats? I heard the stage is way high and the seats are kind of awful...

re: Jersey Boys Rush

As someone who has rushed 10+ times, I can authoritatively say that the rush seats aren't awful. The stage is a bit high and you do miss a few little moments when the guys sit down or head way upstage, but it's well worth the $25 price and the utter closeness of the rest of the performance. Of course, I can only vouch for the front row seats. I dunno know about the other rush seats in the back.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

^ ditto. I've been....well I don't want to talk about it haha let's call it a few more times than mauriposa has and it's totally worth it, you don't miss much at all and it's great seeing everyone's facial expressions and such up close. Go go go and have a good time! :)

Oh, and I also don't know anything about the non-front row seats other than that they are in the back few rows of the orchestra and the "catwalk" on top of the stage gets cut off, as do some screens that come down, so I'd shoot for the front if possible.

does anyone know if they rush for the WED MATINEE???

:)

re: Jersey Boys Rush

Another question...my train gets in to Oglevie at 10:35, which would get me to the theater at like 10:45ish. Do you think I'd still be able to get a ticket? I don't think I'll be able to get to the city until Septemberish, so maybe things will be more clam then...

re: Jersey Boys Rush

They do rush for every performance. :)

And with the way it has been selling lately, I'd say you might have a good chance of getting a ticket at 10:45, maybe during the week? I'm not sure how many non-front row seats they have, but if you go during the week you might have a better shot.

re: Jersey Boys Rush

I think the most they have would be forty non-front row seats, and based off recent attendance numbers, I think you have a good chance of getting them. The Box Office usually opens at 10 AM, and the first twenty tickets to go are usually the front-row seats, so maybe don't hold your breath for front row? (it could happen depending on what day you go).

Ah great news. Thanks guys!

Has anyone bought the rush tickets online? How does it work? At 10am is there just a drop down that says tickets for $25 on ticketmaster?

Pretty much. The only downside is that you cannot get the front row seats online.

Just in case anyone was planning on rushing tomorrow for the final performance, you should probably know that when mauriposa and I got out of the matinee today there were already people outside in lawn chairs waiting for rush tickets for tomorrow's performance. It's supposed to get down to like -2* tonight. Eeeeeeeeep! Someone should bring them a heated blanket (or at the very least a Snuggie)! lol

we are awesome! I camped out that night, and I got a front row seat to one of the best theater performances of my life. It was pretty awesome!

Once again, I guess "awesome" is one word you could use to describe it... although at least 100 more appropriate words come to mind in this situation.
