#0Jersey Boys Seating Question
Posted: 1/8/06 at 4:43pm

I apologize if I didn't use the search feature for this but if anyone can answer I'de greately appreciate.

I just bought tickets to see "Jersey Boys" (I know, check about the seats before you buy them but.. I don't mind where I'm sitting, just want to know how it is.) I am going Wednesday, July 12th at 2:00pm. According to Telecharge, the show is sold out through August, but fortunately, due to Gold Card benefits, I was able to get seats to a new block of seats that are not yet open to the public. Since I'm not familiar with the August Wilson Theater, here's where my seats are:

Center Orchestra Row M, Seats 105-106

Are these okay? How's the view, etc.?

Thank you!

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Playbill.com, Telecharge and typically using a Google search for August Wilson Seating Chart would likely pull up a seating chart for you.

In the middle of the orchestra in the center is typically going to be a good seat in any theatre.

I had those exact seats (okay, I admit it, I saved my tickets!) when I saw Jersey Boys in November. They were excellent seats!!
This show rocks! Have a great time!!

Those seats are fine... not amazing but Jersey Boys is a show that is getting harder and harder to get seats to, more or less good ones. It is the type of show that is good to see from the mezz because it has screens that are high that you can't see from parts of the orch

I've always found that sightlines from center orchestra seats depends on who is sitting in front of you. Unless you're at a theatre like the Marquis, where the orchestra is raked, you're screwed if you get a tall person in front. Personally, I'm 6'2" but I try to slouch a bit and never move from side to side so that once the person in back of me gets a comfortable view, he/she is pretty much set.

Those seats should be fine. You'll actually be better off there, because the mezzanine level won't hang over your seats. I sat back further, in row W, and couldn't see the screens because of the mezz. And, as hush puppy said, it all depends on who's sitting in front of you. I am only 5'2", and had a rather tall person sitting in front of me, so that made it difficult to see.
You should be fine there, and deifnitely enjoy the show!

At this point, any seat to Jersey Boys is a good one. It's a hit and you really have to go with whatever you can get. But nypj, you will be able to see just fine.

I sat in Row W (center orch) too and the screens will be partially obstructed...but then again, I only paid $26 for the ticket since it was a student rush seat. I most certainly cant complain. To be honest though, I didnt think the screens were all that necessary.

azeller, could you tell me when (which date/time) you tried for student rush and did you have to get there pretty early to stand in line? I'd like to try the student rush, I appreciate your info!

This past Saturday (1/7/06) at the 2:00 matinee. My friend got there around 9:30 but they didnt go on sale until 11:00. I got there at 10:30 and was still able to get two tickets. There were maybe 10-12 students in line by the time they started selling them. I do not know how many were available though. Seats were center orchestra Row W for $26.25.

Rather than starting a new thread, figured I'd ask about my seats here. We are in Left Orchestra Row S, seats 5 & 7. Anyone know how good those are? Will we be able to see everything ok?

Note about student rush: Only 14 tickets are sold.

Brokenlizard, those will be fine.

I know this is an old thread but I'm bumping it instead of starting a new one.

It says these seats are partial view but I know some people have different opinions on that.

Can anyone tell me what they think of the following seats?

4 Tickets, Center Orch-partial, Row X, Seats 113-116

Thanks

And there are no other seats that we can get for that many people for the date we need.

I got student rush the first time and did SRO the second time I went, I loved it. I was happy in the back at SRO dancing around like a loser. Enjoy the show, its amazing. I love it! Adore it!

I was more looking for people who have sat there or very close to there for their opinion on the view.

But thanks Clumsy re: Jersey Boys Seating Question

You should be fine. You may not be able to see the entire projection screens, but they don't benefit the story much anyways.

Oy, don't buy those.

If telecharge gave you those as the best seats, click next and you'll be in the mezz somewhere.

I sat in the rear orch (row S) and it was... eh, bad.
