Hate Spider-man with "a passion"? Don't include me in that. The idea of the show doesn't inspire that level of emotion. However, once the documents leaked about how they treated Taymor, it has made me despise Boner and The Sludge.
As for Vegas, Cirque has so far surpassed what Spidey can do, no one will even notice it there. I mean, if you've seen "O", Spidey will look like trapeze school.

Hey Nemo, that's why I think it will be very successful in Vegas. Take those experts and technicians from those Cirque shows and let them run perfect the aerial parts of the show. I can only imagine the amazing things they will come up with for Spiderman. Vegas does it right when it comes to those type of shows, so they should no problem finding subject matter experts to revamp Spiderman in that department.

I think they would be very foolish to invest more money in the show that way. Can you imagine how pricey it would be to try to top the things that Cirque does? And Cirque is not about to put their brand on this already tainted title they had nothing to do with.

Cirque doesn't have to use their brand or even be involved. They have so many experts and technicians in Vegas that specialize in aerial shows like that. Vegas is a place where people spend lots of money and with the younger demo there, Spiderman will have no problem making money. You have to remember that Vegas is more like Disneyland nowadays with year round traffic of young kids and teens. If I asked my teenager if he would rather see "O" or Spiderman, he would say Spiderman of course...and I have a feeling most kids and teenagers would say the same thing.

I know all about Vegas nowadays. I will be very surprised if anything comes of these plans. The Broadway brand doesn't ever work out there. The only thing the general public knows about the show is that people kept getting hurt, and that's something Vegas isn't going to want to take on. Also, the post-economic downturn in Vegas is much less Disneyfied than it was even five years ago. There is no way this tainted show can "make lots of money" as in turn a profit in a place where many shows already far surpass what they would be able to do technically.

Are you kidding me..."tainted show"...don't you know that any press is good press in Vegas. People in Vegas will go to the show just to see what all the hoopla is about...lol. Vegas is 10 times different than Broadway. Also, it's much cheaper to run shows in Vegas than on Broadway.

Ok, why don't you just string together every showbiz cliche you can think of, no matter how inapplicable, and get it out of your system? Ask Cirque if there's "no such thing as bad publicity" in Vegas after the death at Ka?
And also, there is no "hoopla." If there were hoopla around the show, it would have run for ten years in New York. But it failed. Ask the Wynn and Ave. Q how "much cheaper" it was to run there as compared to New York.
Your cliches are fine. They are also not economically sound.

The reason it wasn't successful in New York is because Broadway is to seasonal for that type of demo. When the season is right, Spiderman did amazing numbers. However, New York suffers from seasonal dry spells. This is something Las Vegas doesn't have to worry about.
As far as Steve Wynn goes, he's the one who's betting on Broadway. He wants to bring more Broadway shows to his Casinos. He's already looking at Spiderman, West Side Story, and Rent.
For those poor souls who were unable to understand the context of the OP from the subject line, and were unable to look further into the topic, here is the BWW news story. Hopefully your ordeal is now over:

For the record, it's pretty standard that the OP provide some kind of link or quote. It really helps...
They should put up a window card of Julie's Spider-Man 1.0 artwork, since they changed the artwork for 2.0 and that's the version that ran.
True, but the way some people reacted you'd have thought that I'd unearthed some secret untraceable information from an archeological dig in the desert, rather than quoting the headline from the news section of Broadwayworld that day.

I guess, but I had absolutely no idea what you were talking about and do follow BWW Newsdesk pretty closely. Whatever.
