I have confidential news from unnamed sources that I've generously decided to share only with all of you that Joe Brooks, bolstered by his recent Broadway hit In My Life, has decided to bring to the stage an adaptation of the movie classic Red, White, and Blaine, which tells the story of the town of Blaine, the footstool capital of the world. Songs include "A Penny For Your Thoughts" and "Nothing Ever Happens on Mars". In his adaptation Brooks hopes to expand on the wartime love story and further explore what effects the friendly Martians have had on these simple townsfolk. Potential songs include "Our Life Together," "We Have to Live," and "My Life is Hard Without You," a moving solo and ballet for the soldier's girlfriend. In a clever nod to the jingles that have made Joe Brooks famous, he has already written a jingle for the famous footstool capital of the world called "Listen to your foot".*

Brooks hopes to have his adaptation on stage in time for the next season's Tony awards. No confirmation yet but rumors are swirling that Christopher Guest may head the cast.

Brooks has also confirmed that he is next hoping to do a revival of Funny Boy and is currently finnagling for the rights to Peter Griffin's contemporization of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The King and I.

Anna rules... 'cus I kicked all the bad guys in their jewels...

*I was gonna write a little parody of "Listen to Your Mouth" but I couldn't find the original lyrics anywhere! Not that I tried very hard.

But anyway... bids are open for the next Joe Brooks musical :P
