re: Joel Grey

Yes, the word from people who saw the show today is that Joel will not be returning to "Wicked."

And his replacement?

re: Joel Grey

I believe it is George Hearn

re: Joel Grey

Idina said today that it was Joel's last show as well, and added that he had was under the weather or had personal things to deal with (something like that), but it was really sweet, she said that he was like a father to her and Kristin, and that working with him would always be a highlight of her life.

re: Joel Grey

I think she meant his last show where he was scheduled to be in.

re: Joel Grey

Sean McCourt has been covering for Joel until George Hearn comes in. I saw Sean the other day and he actually brought life to the character and made me like him.

re: Joel Grey

He was at the show today and I think he came on for the curtain call but I don't think he performed.

re: Joel Grey

Idina is the only lead that's still in. Joel isn't really a lead, but still...Nessa is the only other important role. I'd actually like to see Eden's Nessa. I like Michelle Federer, but I bet Eden would be great as Nessa.

re: Joel Grey

i'm interested in seeing eden's nessa as well. funny how she can go from 2 totally different roles in like a split second.

re: Joel Grey

I'm sory to see Mr. Grey go too. I know that this isn't the popular opinion around here - but I saw Sean McCourt play the Wizard and I wasn't impressed. I think it may have been one of his first shows in that role though - so you have to consider that.

re: Joel Grey

Ponine - that's her job. People do it all the time in every show. Swings do it for more than two roles in every show.

re: Joel Grey

So does anyone know what Joel's last show was where he actually performed? Has he not been back in even once since he left for sick?
