Does anyone know about when JLY will be leaving Jersey Boys?
I would like to take a friend to see the show before he leaves the cast.
Thank you

I wouldn't be surprised. Speaking of which, did Michael not pay his webhosting bill?

Posted: 10/21/07 at 12:40amI don't think it'll be Michael - he's too good as Joe Pesci. I'm hoping Jarrod Spector comes in.

Whie Longoria is excellent as Joe Pesci, they will have an easier time filling the Pesci role than than that of Valli. Longoria has proven his chops and is alreay doing the role twice a week for Lloyd Young. In addition, Spector is needed on the Road. Methinks popular_elphie is wrong on this one. Dead wrong.

Posted: 10/21/07 at 8:52amActually, I've seen 8 people play the role of Frankie, and at least 5 of them were good enough to have the role full time on Broadway - but Michael Longoria and Rick Faugno are the only ones who nailed the Joey role, small as it is (and they're both very different interpretations). So there you have it.

Posted: 10/21/07 at 9:06amOh wow...I would give anything for Spector to take over. As great as it would be for Longoria to get bumped up - I like his Pesci too much! Any chance Chris Jones would take over?

Posted: 10/21/07 at 12:02pmLongoria should take over. In my opinion.

Posted: 10/21/07 at 12:03pmI love love love Chris Jones, but I don't want him to take over for JLY. He'd get so trounced. Jarrod Spector is more in tune with JLY, I think.

Posted: 10/21/07 at 12:26pmWait, he says he's leaving November 6th and he says he's staying until Thanksgiving.

I've seen 4 Frankie's. JLY is my favorite and I think Jarrod is definitely the perfect replacement. Michael is very good but Jarrod just has that something extra.
By the way, JLY told me November 21 is his last performance.

Posted: 10/23/07 at 6:22pmI'd hope for the OBC's Michael Longoria, Travis Cloer or Eric Schneider, who I heard from the NY fans at the BC/EFA event there that Eric may be the replacement..... From the tours, I'd pick John Michael Dias or John Michael Coppola because Rick Faugno is rumored to be Las Vegas' principal "Frankie".

JLY's last day is Nov.21st.
I think Michael deserves it, he has worked hard and has proven himself. I will miss him dearly as Joey if he takes over for JLY, but I do think it is Michaels time to shine.

Eric was hired in the same capacity as Matthew Scott or Dominic Nolfi. To swing the younger roles in the ensemble and to cover Bob, Tommy and be a 3rd cover for Frankie. Like Matthew Scott and Dominic, he is taller than your average Frankie (at 5'10" he would be the tallest). Unlike Travis and Longoria, he has not gone on as Frankie for months (or over a year as is the case with Longoria). And as history has proven, the guys who have been getting the role of Frankie, began by being the Frankie alternate or the Joey/Frankie cover. It takes a while to prove one's worth as Frankie (can they sing 6 shows a week? etc?) That being the case, the simple fact that Eric is only 23 and that he JUST joined the Jersey Boys company a few weeks ago, I sincerely doubt he will suddenly be Frankie. He may eventually become a Frankie, but I think assuming he will take over the role is a little too soon to tell. Besides being TOTALLY HOT, I don't know if he is seasoned enough to take over the role in such a short time.
Longoria, Spector, Faungo, Jones, Cloer, all have been with JERSEY BOYS longer and one of them should be bumped to Broadway lead before Schneider.

JB Fan,
I totally agree with your choices for Frankie. Michael being 1st.

Thanks JBFan! At the event there were a lot of whispers among the NYC "regulars" when Eric showed up at the party. A long time fan that watched Jersey Boys over 30 times mentioned to me that he could be cast as JLY's replacement, but Michael may be the 1st choice. I totally agree, and I even told Michael that he should be the principal "Frankie" with Travis alternating with him. Now, who'll be "Joey"? Notable "Joeys" became principals.....
Steve Gouveia - Nick Massi 1st Nat'l Tour (Joey, and others) LaJolla/August Wilson)
Rick Faugno - Frankie Valli Las Vegas (Joey, Frankie and others 1st Nat'l Tour)
Michael Longoria - Frankie Valli OBC????? (Joe Pesci OBC)
We'll just have to wait and see.....

Eric is Graham Fenton's replacement. As far as I know, he's not the new Frankie.
Any of the Frankies in the JB family are amazing, and I'd know the role was in good hands with any of them. I just would hate to lose Longoria's Pesci.
