I heard the audio and the only thing that I can think of that would warrant that much screaming and cursing is if they accidently pulled of the makeup as well as the mask.

I remember reading that there were a lot of bets going back and forth in that cast. Someone bet JOJ that he wouldn't do it. So, essentially, he was dared to.

(Some of the other bets and dares supposedly included male chorus members going on as ballerinas (complete with tutus) during Il Muto, and one of the managers, wearing a Christine wig, being in the boat and making faces at JOJ during Down Once More.)
