While I'm incredibly excited for whatever John does after this, and will be very happy if it's announced that Barrett's taking over (he seems like a complete sweetie, and I've heard nothing but great things about his Princeton/Rod), I'm *very* happy I got my tickets to see the show *FINALLY* for Jan. 14th.
J-TART! NOOOOOOO! I'm coming to NYC in February, and I was hoping to see the entire original cast again. I've heard great things about Barrett, but Johnny will always be Princeton/Rod to me.
Ah well, I should be grateful I saw them all last May.

I'm going to play devil's advocate, so forgive me. I haven't had a chance to see "Avenue Q" yet, but I enjoy the cd. It's cute, that's all I'll say about it. Every thread about Idina Menzel leaving and who would replace her was littered with angry "anti-wicked" and "anti-idina" members, furious that time and threads were being wasted on this topic. So, why is it okay for John Tartaglia? hehe...
Tartaglia doesn't warrant much of a backlash because he never had hordes of blindly adoring fangirls constantly posting about his every expectoration for months on end.
Barrett's Princeton/Rod is amazingly performed. He adds A LOT of his own style to the role and will be an excellent replacement when he (hopefully) gets the bump up.
#1 FOAnatic right here! YEA BARRETT!!!!!!!!!!!

Foa was amazing in Cupid and Psyche. I was really impressed with him in that. I have never seen him in Q but have heard he is great. I wish Stephanie and John the best. They are wonderful actors and incredible people. They will be missed.
Well sure Vincent, I can answer that for you: There have been at least 30 separate threads on the Wicked replacement for monthes This is the first (and remains the only) thread of Q replacements at all
Also because J-Tart is the nicest guy ever, while Idina is just a bitch.

It's good to see him moving on. John Tartaglia was the one BREAKOUT star of Avenue Q and he needs to break the Q shell and be seen as more than a singing puppeteer(sp?)
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

i'm glad he has such a great replacement but he'll be greatly missed! i hope i can see it again with him in it before he goes, and hopefully he'll be back to broadway in something else soon so we can see him! i'm really excited for a ton of great roles i'm sure he has in his future. good luck to him! (trying to be cheery, but really very sad)

*cries* Well, I'm very lucky to have seen it again 2 weeks ago, and to have seen him each of my 3 times. I'd be very interested in seeing Barrett, but I love John... This is a hell of a way to get me off my butt and to his solo concerts.
Jacob, "John is the one breakout star" Jacob, with all due respect the entire cast of Q ARE STARS. Stephanie, Rick, Jen, both Ann's. They are all stars. And all will have big things to look forward to. John will be missed. Just don't forget about Stephanie, Jen, Rick and both Ann's. They are all INCREDIBLE.
