If Norbert Leo Butz didn't get Best Leading Actor in 2011, I think it would be between Josh and Andrew. Who do you think would win?
From little what i've seen, Josh has a great, funny performance. Maybe bigger than Andrew. So, I think Josh Gad would have probably beat Andrew for Best Actor.

This year was a pretty clear case, to me, of two co-equal leads splitting votes letting Butz sneak in and win (with a third, and also excellent performance.)
Neither Gad nor Rannells had a leg up to me, and I imagine that's why voters couldn't coalesce around the frontrunner of the pair (like Billy Porter over Stark Sands or Douglas Hodge over Kelsey Grammer in years after and prior.)
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Posted: 7/19/13 at 10:21amI would have rather have seen Rannells get the win. I think Gad was great, but found what he did to be too stereotypical. I found Rannells choices to be more suprising.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
