So I just got back from Josh Groban's concert at the Garden, where he song "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney. He sounded amazing. Also he talked about how Sondheim was one of his idols and how every piece Sondheim writes is a blessing. He mentioned that when he first came to New York before he was discovered he really wanted to be on Broadway. He also said that he still wants to do it someday. I just thought that was awesome and can't wait to see him grace one of our New York stages sooner than later.

Being a Grobanite this is old news but something makes me wonder...
I've seen him on Alley McBeal and he has some acting training sure, but he's pretty 'specific'.
What roles is really good for? I mean could he headline a show? Hmmm...if he's smart he'll start regionally and do a tour as a replacement for a bit just to really settle before the wolves of Broadway sink their teeth into him. LOL.
He'd be an interesting Fabrizo (SP?) in The Light In The Piazza - we atleast know he could sing it.
Any other ideas?
