I saw Josh go on as Roger last night, and I'm in love. I think he's my new favorite (if I only count people I've seen live, that is.)

I wish I could go to his gig tonight. If anyone goes, post about it, post pictures, whatever. Hopefully I can go to his next one, whenever that may be.

Show some love!

yay josh!!!! i haven't heard a bad review of him as roger at all. everyone's loved him. i saw him as gordon/mr.grey/the man during colin's vacation (i was REALLY upset about not see colin), and he was great. his "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" was hilarious, and you could tell that he was having a great time. his facial expressions during La Vie Boheme were priceless! i would kill to see him as roger.

i'm glad that you enjoyed him emcee.

He's going on again tonight. Apparently Cary got sick during his vacation, so now he has more time off to be on vacation without being sick. I want to go see him agaaaaaain. His facial expressions were so... real. He was really a perfect combination of all of the traits I'd pull from the Rogers I've seen and liked, but haven't loved.

I was addicted to Josh as Gordon and 'others'..Great to hear he's great as Roger. The only bad thing I heard about him was that he has some pitch problems..but so does Cary sometimes..Hows Kobak's singing? :)

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Beautiful. I think I heard maybe... one or two notes that were less-than perfect. He hasn't got that country twang thing like Jeremy does, and is a bit less... screamy (though I like that) than Cary. Big, beautiful belt. re: Josh Kobak!

re: Josh Kobak!

Joshua Kobak was my Roger when I went to go see Rent, and I fell in love with him.

Its actually a funny story because my friend and I were trying to get lottery tickets when he came out from the matinee. All these girls were going insane and asking for his autograph, pictures, etc... but I wa just standing there because I didn't know who he was. He gave me the weirdest look like "Why aren't you asking me for my autograph?" (I know this kinda sounds bad, but it was cute!)

Anyways, I felt so bad because I had a feeling that I would see it and fall in love with him (which I did) that I took a picture when he was signing autographs... only problem... I forgot to turn on the flash...so it turned out like that ^

Emcee, you're such a little fangirl slut. :-P

I think his voice would be more suited to Mark, but I like that he plays Roger with some vulnerability.

Oh my gosh, girls were going NUTS over him! It was so funny. He's a cutie up close, though. I guess I don't blame them!

I know that if I had known who he was I would have gone nuts over him...

Lol, I know that this seems weird but I just remembered what my friend and I called him before we knew he was Roger... That Guy with Cool Hair...

Sorry, made me laugh.

Thanks so much, insomniak! I am quite obsessed with Angels in America and that picture. If I could I would put it on t-shirts and buttons... maybe make a lunch box out of it....

Anyways, Emcee- I agree curly hair is always good.

And didn't Joshua Kobak play Mark for awhile? I pretty sure I saw pictures of him as Mark... I shall see if I can find them again.

He dropped the camera? Haha, I read somewhere that someone dropped and broke it at one point but I can't remember if it was him or not in the story (I'm sure more than one Mark has broken it...???)

So, Josh love.

I just saw his Roger for the first time a couple nights ago. (Although I've been a fan of him for years...) Amazing.

He's my alltime favorite Roger as well, out of VERY many. He does amazing things with the character, everything seems right when it's Kobak playing Roger. Plus, he's just an overall talented dude. I've loved his music for years now, and have gone to a few of his gigs, such an awesome performer. He has his own musical too, Subway Train, which I saw in the Fringe last year, quite a show!

What's his music like? I'm going to try to make it to the next show he does, for sure.

As Roger, I feel like if I could pull all of the qualities I've liked from good Rogers that I've seen, and stick them all into one person, that's the way Josh is. He blended perfectly that vulnerability Cary has with the really angy Roger Jeremy played, for example. Not too much on either extreme, and it made him feel very real.

YAY JOSH!

Try what, to go see him last night? I had a really busy evening, and then stuff to take care of at home, so I couldn't make it. re: Josh Kobak!
