The Gordon Edelstein-directed Long Wharf production of THE GLASS MENAGERIE will play Roundabout's Pels Theatre in spring 2010. Judith Ivey will reprise her Amanda Wingfield.

Posted: 6/26/09 at 8:33pmYES!!! This was one of the best things I saw all last season. Ivey was brilliant and I was crossing my fingers that this gem of a production would have a longer life and somehow find its way into the city. We are very lucky. Thank Todd Haimes!

Dang! If the Judith Ivey version of this show is heading to NYC, then the planned revival starring Loretta Swit and Pia Zadora will be going down the tubes! I've witnessed Loretta read scenes from this play and they sounded like nothing Tennessee Williams ever wrote.
Oh well...

Is Ivey the only one coming to NY? I'd love to see a few NY actors from the Off-Broadway/Broadway scene tackle the other two roles. Good for Ivey, I heard great things about her in this production. GLASS MENAGERIE is my favorite Williams' play along with CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF so I don't think you can't have too many (especially after the Lang/Slater fiasco).

You mean Slater, not Bale.
Can't tell one Christian from another?

Oh yeah, I actually find them both rather interchangeable and even meant to go on idbdb.com to see if I had the one right, guess I didn't, will edit

Posted: 6/26/09 at 9:55pmI really hope the rest of the cast stays intact. I thought they were all superb particularly the actor playing Tom (mind is blanking on his name.)
