Julia Murney "I'm Not Waiting"

So, per Julia's request, I went out and bought "I'm Not Waiting" today. They did, in fact, have multiple copies of the cd in store. I will just say that from the first note of the cd I was mesmerized. I can't remember the last time I bought a non-cast recording cd. It has to be a few years. But I put my faith in Julia and bought the album. There are no words to describe. Every song gives me chills. I am practically giddy listening to it. Some of my favorites include: "A thousand beautiful things," "I'm not waiting," and her new rendition of "I'm not that girl" which is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I cannot describe this cd. Just... run to the nearest Borders or Barnes & Noble and get it. Right now. It's also great that she included a song from Lennon, and her new rendition of "Raise the Roof" is stunning. Has anyone else yet heard the cd? Thoughts?

The entire thing is absolutely amazing. Beautiful Boy, I'm Not Waiting, A Thousand Beautiful Things just scratch the surface of how great it is.

I bought it this weekend at the theatre. Its an AWSOME CD. I cant stop listening to "A Thousand Beautiful Things/Beautiful Day" and "I'm Not Waiting"!

am listening to it right now...Julia is amazing and I love all the songs...the title track is probably my favorite if I had to choose...God i'm gonna blow soo much money that I don't have going to see her in the Twin Cities but I don't care...she's worth it!

the cd is amazing. i had really high hopes for it when i found out she was doing this and they were blown away once i heard the full cd.
i was also shocked to find it in best buy today. never expected to find it in a store in melbourne, fl haha.

Sometimes I get in my car and drive around aimlessly just to really enjoy this album.

I was lucky enough to develop a nice relationship with Julia when she was in LENNON. I miss her dearly and can't wait for her to get back to NY. She is one of my favorite performers.

If you're thinking about purchasing the album, please do it from sh-k-boom.com -- the label (and Julia) sees more money that way, whereas from a big retailer, they take a cut before anything goes anywhere else. Support the label, support the artist!

Its worth the extra $1.01 you might have saved.

Really? I actually thought these songs suited her voice perfectly. Plus there are so many types of music that she sounds different (and brilliant) on many of the songs. The difference in her voice between "A Thousand Beautiful Things" and "Misery and Happiness" is like night and day, but I love her on both the songs.

Jaybrrd, I did not realize that. Now I wish I had bought it from sh-k-boom. Though it was cool to see her cd in a store.

Does that mean you think they sound the same? I LOVE "I'm not waiting" and "Perfect" but I don't think they sound the same. They're not even the same composer.

Zoran, I agree...but I'd go even further to say the whole cd could work as a song cycle...I use could loosely, but so many aspects of all the songs fit together...

(fyi: song cycle is a group of songs linked by theme, same poet, etc)

It's all about "Fancy" I am now more in love with this song than I was before!
