Julia Roberts is going to be on Letterman tonight (May 4) for Three Days of Rain.
Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I forgot about her being on until I checked Letterman's site to see who the guests were going to be. This is a little off-topic but Tom Hanks is going to be on Conan tonight too, so the late night shows have some pretty good guests on tonight. :)
He just called her "The Queen of Broadway"...hmm.
her comment about people who sit in the front row who always act as though they are still at home is sooo true!

Damn I missed it. Can anyone post a recap of what she said. Did he ask her about the reviews? I read an interview with Paul Rudd and he addressed the negative reviews. I would think Letterman would probably avoid that topic with Julia though.
She talked about her kids a lot and the play a little. Neither she nor he adressed the negative reviews. She basically talked about how the rain is cool on stage and how Oprah attended opening night and David *cough* didn't *cough.* It was very low-key and kind of boring. You really didn't miss much.

Yeah I didn't really agree w/ the "Queen of Broadway" comment but the rest of the interview was fun to watch.
I'm sure it's on www.youtube.com. You could watch it there.
But of course, that would be wrong.....
I loved how Letterman said something like, "do you ever find yourself thinking about other things while on stage?" and she just made this face and said, "...NO....well sometimes, but never in an UNFOCUSED way" lol, she's cute. Oh and, "do they think you're on TV?" "......well I'm not." in reference to people talking about her as if she wasn't there.
I read the post and meant to set the vcr and I forgot, so of course I missed it!
Oh well, I'm sure it will show up online soon enough!
I thought she was darling! She also said that being on Broadway was a professional dream of hers. Well, good for her!!!
"he also said that being on Broadway was a professional dream of hers."
Every actor from Hollywood says this! Its so old by now. If it was really their dream, why didn't they do it from the start? I think its an excuse by alot of la based actors to make them look credible as broadway actors.
There are over 100,000 members of the talent unions in Los Angeles and only a handful of actors who have recognizable faces in movies and TV have EVER had to guts to come to Broadway and do live theater. I'll tell you that for an established star, it's a huge risk. And one that I guarantee her agents/managers/entourage will try to talk her out of. Julia Roberts is one of the world's biggest stars, probably the third or fourth most recognizable face in the world. She has nothing in the world to prove except, apparently, this. I don't see Reese of Angelina or Sandra or or Charleze or Hillary or Halle daring to face the critics of Broadway, so let's cut her a little slack.
I enjoyed the interview. I have really grown to like her.

I liked how she said that people in the first few rows treat the production like a TV show. However, in my opinion, that is what this production felt like.
i was there. I'll post more on that and my whole trip later on today
