Julianne Moore stage door question

Posted: 11/25/06 at 3:57pmHas anyone waited for Julianne Moore at the stage door after "The Vertical Hour"? One of my friends loves her (Far From Heaven is his all time favorite movie) and he can't come to NY to see the play, but I thought I'd try to get him her autograph for a Hanukah present, but I've never waited at the stage door so I'm kind of nervous about it. So, anyway, has anyone waited for her? Will she sign stuff? Is 20 to old to be waiting at a stage door? :) Thanks!

A friend saw the show the other day and said that she couldn't have been nicer following the matinee. She spent a long time with each person, asking them what they thought, taking photos, and signing autographs. It's certainly not a Julia Roberts-like crowd. My friend wished her luck on opening night, she replied saying something along the lines of "It's the morning after I'm worried about. I don't wanna read the reviews."
The cast members are all very nice, especially Bill Nighy, who I saw signing numerous photos of him in Davy Jones (Pirates of the Carribean) drag. He loved it all and was extremely gracious.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 4:30pmThough I can't make it to NYC to see her, I'm glad Julianne is so gracious at the stage door. Nothing against Julia, but I'd much rather meet Julianne. She is by far the better actress and I can't believe that Julia has an Oscar and Julianne doesn't. Her performance in "Far From Heaven" was outstanding, as was her work in "The Hours" and "Boogie Nights." It's time Ms. Moore won an Oscar!

Not to mention her work in MAGNOLIA... a positively shocking performance. You literally can see her fall apart at the seams. I find it to be one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen onscreen (especially when she starts to sing during the musical number, "Wise Up", as she is attempting suicide), and hopefully someday the film itself will be truly appreciated for the hallmark of American Cinema that it is. A master class in acting and a true masterpiece.

She is one of the nicest "stars" I have seen at the stage door. Takes pictures, talks and signs (playbills as well as photos). She talked to several older ladies about some of her movies. And asked a young guy (20's) what he thought of the show. To be honest, I cant believe how nice and gracious she was.
Bill Nighy and Andrew Scott are also incredibly nice. A very kind cast.

Oh good! She's always seemed like a very nice person in interviews and such, but I know she has young children and sometimes performs with kids just want to get home to them instead of doing the whole stagedoor thing.
I actually saw the play the other day, but I'm seeing it again in a few weeks with some friends so we'll wait at the stagedoor then. I thought the play was very good by the way. She really is a wonderful actress.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 6:52pmSaw the play Wednesday afternoon and LOVED it. Julianne was fabulous, as was the rest of the cast, even the two students who had such small roles. I didn't have time to stage door after the show (and it was starting to rain), so I will probably try and meet her this coming Saturday. Glad to hear she and the rest of the cast are very gracious. Looking forward to meeting them.

I loved it too! I'm glad to hear she's gracious at the door. The whole cast was wonderful and the play is very sharp, funny and though provoking.
I wasn't sure if I was going to be in the mood for a political drama in the afternoon, but it turned out to be very entertaining and surprisingly funny.
