This is GREAT news! Halston is one of the great comedic actors on the planet and should be every bit as funny as Jackie as Mrs. Pingleton, the gym teacher, the prison matron, etc... I may have to go see the show again now.

She's stolen every show I've ever seen her in -- White Chocolate, Gypsy, The Women, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, The Man Who Came To Dinner, as well as her solo shows. Hilarious woman!

in my opinion, aside from the role of Edna, the female authority figure is the hardest to replace because of the bar that jackie set.

Jackie's amazing. I just got an email from her saying she'll be in "The Downtown Plays" which is the centerpiece of the new Tribeca Theatre Festival, October 19th through the 31st. She's part of a cast that includes J. Smith Cameron, Josh Hamilton, Maria Tucci in an evening of short works by short works by Jon Robin Baitz, Kenneth Lonergan, Neil LaBute, Paul Rudnick, Warren Leight, David Henry Hwang, Wendy Wasserstein, Douglas Carter Beane and others.
Jackie says that "THE PAUL RUDNICK PIECE AT THE TOP OF THE SECOND ACT ALONE IS WORTH SHLEPPING DOWNTOWN, TRUST ME." I'll be there. Gotta love her.

I saw Julie in Twentieth Century and she was fantabulous.
Does she always play supporting roles?

I love Julie. Have loved her since her days in Charles Busch's troupe. I think my fave was when she played the Contessa in "The Lady in Question": "Why this tunnel's longer than Gary Cooper's -- oh, hello..."
Also saw her in The Vagina Monologues. She is, as they say, very versatile.
Sad to see Jackie go. I was looking foward to seeing her on the 30th but I see she played her last show on the 14th. I'm sure Julie Halston will do just as great a job.
This woman is perfection. She will be brilliant.
Any see JH's last show? Just wanted to know what her ad-lib was...
