Has anyone seen the trailer for the new movie musical Across the Universe yet? It looks visually stunning. From what i can make out it looks like Hair meets Pennies from Heaven with music by The Beatles and directed by Julie Taymor. It start Evan Rachel Wood and has cameo's from Eddie Izzard and Bono to name but a few.

If anyone has anymore information on it, i'd like to hear more.I believe it has been test screened, but still needs a bit of work done to it before its released in September.

That looks HOT!!! I actually saw a bit of the filming of that film on 5th Ave. near Washington Square Park. Can't wait to see it.

It's basically a Beatles movie musical with characters like Jude, Lucy, Max (as in Maxwell's Silver Hammer), Sadie, JoJo (from Get Back), Prudence, Mr. Kite, Dr. Robert, Desmond and Molly (from Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da), Julia, and Martha [My Dear].

But at least it looks better than Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with the Bee-Gees and Peter Frampton.

T.V. Carpio is Prudence in the movie, and she's currently Alexi Darling and Others in Rent right now. There's actually a bunch of musical theater people (and a lot that were/are in Rent, for some reason), that are in the movie.
