Just saw Wonderful Town

Well I saw WT this afternoon and thought it was pretty mediocre. Donna Murhy was wonderful. But it isn't the "blow the roof" performance I had heard about. The rest of the cast was dull. I don't know how long this show will last since the Mezzanie was empty. They were giving away free cds of the show at tkts. ( they were handing out coupons at the line that you would present with your ticket to get the cd).

Gregg Edelman is dull?
Jennifer Westfeldt has a gorgeous voice.
I love the entire cast except for Wreck he was the weakest link.

I'm sorry you were unimpressed with the show. I loved it. Thought DM was a scream. Loved almost all the songs. Loved the old-fashionedness of it. ....but then I never left Ohio.

I'm sorry you felt that way. I paid to see the show twice.
I loved it but not just Donna.
I loved everything about Wonderful Town. Except the Football song.
But Gregg Edelman has such a beautiful voice and he is very handsome. Did you see him in Into The Woods as a Prince?

I did see him in Into The Woods. I have seen him in lots of things and have always found him dull. But I do agree. He is very handsome. And I do love Donna Murphy. But maybe the style of the show wasn't for me.

Gregg Edelman is extremely dull. His wife told me that he was having voice problems the week I saw it, but his voice wasn't the problem. He was just a dull stick. I couldn't believe one woman would fall for him let alone two.

The mezzanine was not empty today--there were empty seats, yes, but an important difference.

It's possible that you just weren't into that kind of a musical, because it was a good show today with a very enthusiastic audience. It also sounds like hype killed things for you as hype is prone to do.

I would have to agree that the show has dull points, but I think Donna Murphy completes the whole show. But definetly without her, it would be a DULL show.

Greg is ALWAYS dull. ITW, Passion, City of Angels, Cabaret... jeez. Always looks constipated when he sings. But, he's got to be doing something right to be working all the time!

Greg Edelman is the KING of boring. His choices on stage put me to sleep. Sure the guy has a nice voice (nice is the key word) but that doesn't make a great performance. The wonderful Bernstein score can barely liven the mood in this all too dead revival. I saw Donna Murphy and thought she was far from her best (and believe me I'm a huge fan.)

The mezzaniw WAS empty. Sure there were people in it. But eevryone was asked to move towards the front rows and everyone had their coats on every other seat. And if that was a enthusiastic audience then I would hate to see what a unethusiastic one is. The portly usher upstairs house right was starting all the applause after every number.

I haven't seen it yet but would like to see for myself. Some friends loved it and some hated it - and to me, Greg Edelman is very dull...we watched Passion again this weekend and he had me falling asleep during his scenes.
"I don't really get the ending,all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang,and later she kissed him on the toilet,after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung,and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen,and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady?Please help me,thank u very much!" What musical did you see? I am very familiar with this show and have never seen an incarnation with a character named Brick.
