Another Adam nut!!!! YAY!!! That makes my day. Glad to have you stagemaster! I am a techie as well. All the fun is backstage. But don't you hate the actors who don't understand the concept of not messing with props? Make me want to shoot myself...

Haha, yeah. I really enjoy doing props. During our production off Noises Off this year, plates of fake sardines were thrown around. When we had to do our set changes (which involved turning the whole giant set around), my job was to pick up the sardines and make sure they, as well as the other 7 plates of them were ready to go for the next scene. This in addition to making sure all the other props were in place. It was a lot of fun, as yucky as it probably sounds.

I swear I'm just a glorified babysitter of inanimate objects sometimes. Props are fun, but not with some people around...

There is an Adam thread over in the Off Topic forum that died, and I would like to revive it... if I did, would you post on it?

Well I'm no longer a teenager (20 years old here and starting my junior year of college this fall) but I too am quite envious of all the wonderful experiences that people have - meeting cast members, going backstage, and the like. I have no theatrical talent whatsoever (scared to death of even getting up in front of people) but I have a lot of respect for those that do and absolutely love watching shows (I'm a Broadway newbie as I just saw my first show only 2 years ago). I worked crew on the last show our school did and absolutely adored being a part of the production - being backstage is my limit to participation!

I can relate to the props thing though - my roommate acts and she was in charge of props for one of the school shows. We went on many a search to find the props (really odd obscure stuff too) and then I heard horror stories of how people were abusing the props and just giving her a hard time.

Hey there! I am going to Be a Senior in High School... I Love Theatre A Little to much... I'm taking 5 theatre classes out of my 7 classes next year. I Only Hope to Go to Roosevelt University in Chicago then on my Way to performing. I would like to be on broadway as well.. but more I would like to be in a traveling company. See the world and do what I Love!

Enough about me!

Hope you Have a blast with this site.. and try not to become addicted and check it every hour on the hour... Like I do... I'm sucha Dork!

Hi, and welcome! I am 12, and I hope to be an actress or a director (I am exceptionally good @ yelling at people) but am really too young to know what I am going to do with my life. However, I work as hard as I can to hopefully be on Broadway one day. You know: dance 2x a week, vocal, music reading, national touring choir. I've already done 25 shows, 2 professional.

I hope everything goes well for you, and keep posting! Oh, and if you turn into a TheatreGeek like me, be proud of it!

Hey, turning 19 in 10 days. I'm glad to know there are so many of us too!!! I've been involved in theater since I was 4 and I've become increasingly involved backstage and less-so on-stage. I'm actually pre-med, but I love theater and I'm going to school on the East Coast (I'm from Montana, school in Vermont) partly to be closer to NYC. I have two trips planned for next semester already. I can't wait! Welcome!

Why do we play with fire? Why do we run our fingers through the flame? Why do we leave our hands on the stove, although we know we're in for some pain? -tick...tick...BOOM!

I'm actually looking into going into a technical theater school, like for set design, stage crew, backstage stuff. I'd love to do musical theater but I'm not talanted enough.

i'm going to be a junior in high school - i definetly want to be involved in theater - hopefully performing but maybe also in the journalism/pres/publicity side

I'm 15 and everyone who knows me says that I'm a musical theater encyclopedia!! My one goal in life is to be a star on Broadway! I've worked my but off with training in dance, drama, and vocals for my whole life and am ready to be discovered! I just got into the top arts school on the west coast(lachsa). And once I move to NY, and find a leading role in a great show, I'm there! Watch for me...I'm serious! By the way, I'm sooo happy that I found this message board. It's nice to know that there are other people who are overly obsessed witha all things broadway! You guys are the best!

I just turned 19 on Saturday and will be starting my sophomore year in college and I am studying musical theatre. I wish to be on broadway but right now I'll settle for seeing as many bway shows as I possibly can.

this is great -- makes me wish there was an internet board when I was a teenager (MANY years ago long before Al Gore "invented" the internet).

Good luck to all of you -- never let go of your dream and aspirations -- they can and will come true -- I do had "dreams" of starring on b-way -- while I never got into a NY cast -- I have many fond memeories of bus and truck shows, summerstock and first national tours (well that was Sugar Babies with Mickey Rooney -- not so much fun)....

I'm still a teen, 18, turning 19 in January. I start college in September. I love to act and sing, altho I don't think I'm very good at either. Others say I am, but I suspect they are just being nice lol (I've also been told I lack self-confidence at times lol). Anyway, as much as I'd love to be in a Broadway show, I don't think thats in my cards, I'll have to stick to being in front of the stage, in the audience. Shucks lol. Anyhoo, welcome to the board! Feel free to PM me, or most anyone for that matter, whenever you please!

Hey Thoroughly Modern Cara, I know you asked a long time ago about my thought's on Raul Esparza, but I didn't know who he was then. But last night I finally bought the Tick, Tick. . . BOOM! OBC Recording and noticed his name. I've fallen in love with his voice, but I don't know much else about him.

Hi, stagemaster! I'm 19 (I'll be 20 on September 11, no joke) and I love Broadway. If I could be anything, I'd be a singer (but I have no training, so my voice is awful and I only sing when I'm pretty sure I won't be overheard). But I love seeing shows (and daydreaming, of course :) ) and I was hugely involved in theater in high school. Anyway, it's nice to meet you and I hope we'll see you on the board a lot!

This is fun to read...I guess I didn't realize how many people here are in high school! I'm 17 and will be a senior this year, and like a lot of you guys I love singing and performing (4 of my 8 classes this year are music related) but I won't be continuing after this year. It's kind of hard to think about never being on stage again...but I guess it's something practically everyone has to go through! To everyone out there who is pursuing a career in theater, Good luck!! :)
