Just got home from "Sunday in the Park...."

Just about finished wiping my eyes and the rest of my face too, the show ended 45 mins ago and I am still completely buzzing. This is SUCH an emotionally draining version of Sunday in the Park with George, so well acted and fantastically designed.

I hope this production does transfer to a small Broadway house and double wish that the two stars could go with it. Jenna Russell is simply lovely as Dot and by turns hysterical and touching as Marie. Daniel Evans gives one of the most memorable performances I have seen for ages. I just wanted to hug him at the end.

If anyone in London is wavering about whether to see it in the next week and they can get tickets I would urge them to go for it double quick !!!!

I just bought the album - sweeeeeeeet. Very different from the OBC - jarring in some ways, but lovely in many others. Well worth the investment.

I am so used to the OBC, but the cast recording is so unique and the new orchestrations are fantastic!

I am KICKING MYSELF because I was just in London a couple weeks ago and didn't see it! I was there for 3 days with some friends en route to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the only time we had to see a show was the night we got in, and everyone else was too jetlagged and didn't want to go! I should've just gone by myself... Sondheim is a genius, and SITPWG is one of my favorites.

I loved the cast album. I found the tempi a bit slow in the second act, but just from hearing the album I hope it comes here.

One thing to remember about the cast album by thw way... Jenna Russel had never actually performed on stage as Dot when it was recorded sicne she took over for the West End. The album was recorded after the end of the Mernier run and before the West End. It must be weird whene everyone else has been doing a show for months and you are thrown in at the deep end for a recording.

Margo enjoy the show !! Hope you have good seats and by the way the theatre is now properly air conditioned.. a real treat in London as I guess you know !!!!

I saw this a few weeks ago and was not expecting to like it as much as I did.
