I flew in from Chicago specifically to see this show and it was worth every penny! The cast was fantastic and looked like they were having such a good time - I didn't want the evening to end. What a great night for a great cause!

Lorelai - do you happen to know exactly which of the organizations involved is going to release the recording: Rockers on Bway, BCEFA, or someone else?
If it really was recorded that would be AMAZING. Are there any further details about that or is it all hearsay at this point?
It was a really amazing evening. I didn't realize it would be that emotional seeing them all on stage together again, but it was. When the audience leaped up in the middle of the finale, it literally took my breath away. An older man behind me was crying and singing by that point.
Also the entire thing looked great - well put together, well rehearsed, and I don't think I've ever seen a group of people who were obviously having that much fun not only performing, but watching each other perform. It was fantastic.
I do not know who is going to release it but I saw them taping it and at intermission I asked what they were taping it for and the camera operator said they were planning to release it. I asked specifically if he meant to the general public and he said yes.

honestly the Adrenalin was infinite
I saw the 1st national tour of this at Boston's Colonial theatre in 1994 or 5 and I still say that hundreds of productions later, it was one of the most exhilarating evenings of theatre I've ever experienced. This might be one of those shows, that when revived, should not be touched in any way, shape or form. The direction, sets, costumes, orchestrations are all perfect.
Was anything cut last night from the original production? I just don't remember it being under 2 hours.

Tommy was always about 2 hours including interval...first act ~50 min. second act ~45 min.
Thank you exedore. Thinking back now, I do remember it being that short.

There was one bit cut...the whole "Extra, extra, read all about it," and the dialogue that comes after, where the Walkers and Cousin Kevin get interviewed by the press. That's all I noticed, though.
Did Alice Ripley perform in the concert?
Yes she did.
You know it's funny; at the time I thought something was amiss with that scene, but it went by to fast to notice. Also, did something sound odd in "Listening to You", almost like everyone's mike cut off for a split second?
I know this was discussed before but could someone remind me why Michael McElroy was missing from the show? Thanks.

A woman two rows in front of me was literally shaking and headbanging with excitement (she looked to be about 65 years old....awesome).
She was a regular at the original Broadway production. She saw the show at least a hundred times and was often at the theatre. She liked to dance in her seat and would jump up and down, cheering, during curtain calls.

Marway44, I don't remember that specifically, but I noticed a few times it seemed like mikes didn't get turned up on time, so the beginnings of some lyrics weren't heard.
Yeah, why WASN'T McElroy there? I was wondering about that.

Saint James- thanks for the heads up on that lady. Its always nice to be seated near people who are completely into the show. It rubs off on ya.
