I like that they don't get the same person every year to host. afterall, variety is the spice of life.
I wonder how many references he will make to his new show? LOL
The show's writers always give the host(s) the corniest banter and/or dialogue.

Great news - someone who has both stage and film experience to host the TONY awards - and one with great charisma, too. It would help attract new audiences to Broadway shows.
Except it would make getting great seats for The Boy From Oz even more difficult - lol!... I am glad I have already gotten mine.

Does he have the commanding presence to host a 3 hour awards show?
I'm not sure.

I've just read this interesting item from New York Times's Jesse McKinley's update on Cameron Mackintosh, who's thinking of bringing over a revival of My Fair Lady to Broadway --
"All of which, of course, would be dependant on Actors Equity, which has squabbled with Mr. Mackintosh before; in 1999 it denied permission for Hugh Jackman, an Australian, to play Curly in "Oklahoma!" judging that he wasn't a big enough star to warrant not casting an American. (Since then, of course, Mr. Jackman has been in two "X-Men" movies and will be the host of this year's Tony Awards. Who knew?)..."![]()
