Wiseman’s key art for Kiss of the Spider Woman is terrific. The barbed wire-like twisted female torso with arms and legs extended is so clever. And I just love the fuchsia.

Since Blankenbuehler was previously attached to the Spider Woman revival that was being workshopped with Ariana DeBose, I wonder if she‘ll star as Aurora.

I was going to say: Wiseman's art for the season is really wonderful. These are better than a lot of the Broadway key art we've seen lately.

I was so excited for this, until I read the part about the '87 orchestrations. Still can't wait to see it, but I feel the revival benefited from Sally and the revamped score.

Yeah. I am a 1999 YAGMCB apologist through and through; I'd even go so far as to say it's one of the most influential musicals of its era. It feels like the blueprint for the quirky, small-cast whimsical chamber musicals of the 2000s, especially in the orchestrations. (Take a listen to the cast recording sometime and listen to the no-longer-licensed guitar part. Half the time it's played as if it's a monophonic bowed string instrument alongside the violin, and then it doesn't play a power chord until the Happiness reprise on the bows.)

Solow would be perfect casting.

Also: Andrew Lippa is not included in the listed credits for this, so this does seem to be the original version.
