Madame Morrible has become more of a comic set piece over the past ten years. Casting a legendary comedienne of the stage in the role would not have made sense in 2004, but makes lots of sense with the state of the show now.

"Subtle" is not exactly a word I'd use to describe any Madame Morrible I've seen, including Carole Shelley relatively early in the run.

Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Actually, Klye Dean Massey is like 32. So very close to Justin's age.

Joanne Worley played the role in the Los Angeles production in 2008 and was entirely miscast.
