I really doubt British theatre fans care about KB winning over Matilda.

You are not "disillusioning" me at all Frapperia. I never said accents were not important..just not the ONLY thing. Blinded me? Seriously..I think I am allowed to love a show warts and all - that doesn't mean I don't see faults. It just means I love the show in spite of them.
I am not doubting that there are many talented American or British actors who could do the parts well. But there is something to be said for seeing the originals. That's all.
Everybody say yeah! Great news! Congrats to all involved!
Maybe the high ticket prices of Broadway theatre today with things like "premium" seats have a lot to do with show recouping already.

Probably not, since the pricing structure isn't terribly different from other popular shows that haven't recouped so quickly. More likely it's because people are buying so many tickets.

Just an aside...for today, Sunday Oct 13th, KB has two shows - and a change of time. Matinee is at 2:30 and then there is a 7:30 show as well.
