'De-Lovely' got me wondering.
Which show of Cole Porter's do you think is his 'masterpiece', KISS ME, KATE or ANYTHING GOES?
My vote goes to KISS ME, KATe
ALso, which is his quintessential song?
This one is harder, but I'd have to go with SO IN LOVE or YOU'RE THE TOP

Posted: 7/25/04 at 6:35pmI personaly hate anything goes...My middle school did it one year,when I was in 7th grade, than the next the other middle school did it and then last year my high school did it when I was in 9th grade. I'm sick of it and never wish to see it or hear it ever again. But hey...thats just me...

Kiss Me, Kate just makes me smile every time. I just love it.
My favorite porter song is "Always True to You (In My Fashion)". It's my anthem! lol.

DEFINATELY KISS ME KATE.
I'd say Too Darn Hot is one of his best.
But props to Always True To You, of course I'm biased because I'm playing the part right now! lol.

Posted: 7/25/04 at 9:48pmMy favorite Porter song is also "Always True to You" and I really have no feeling for Anything Goes either way, so my vote goes to Kiss Me Kate even if "Wunderbar" and "Too Darn Hot" are numbers I really don't like.
