Once again, he does have the best icon ever.
Can we knock off Peters and put Mason on as Rose??

Posted: 7/21/03 at 10:54pmBarbara better be fabulous as Velma, because Karen Mason is as good as they come! Can you imagine how great her Baltimore Crabs Reprise would be? As good as she'd be as Momma Rose, I think she'd make a better Mazeppa or Electra. For anyone who hasn't bought her CD "When The Sun Comes Out", rush to your local cd store (or her website www.karenmason.com) and get it! I have had it for a year or so, and some songs she sings still make me tear up. "We Never Ran Out Of Love..." is one of the most beautiful , yet sad songs I've ever had the pleasure to hear.

Karen is doing a concert at the King Kong Room (upstairs at the Supper Club in NYC) as part of the Jim Caruso-produced series there in mid-August.
She is a super lady - there is none nicer.

Posted: 7/22/03 at 10:42pmShe has played Momma Rose in the past, so she could handle it. But I don't think her personality is the same personality that Mendes wanted for this show. I wish I could have seen her as Norma in Sunset Blvd. though.

Posted: 7/24/03 at 3:06pmConsidering that Karen Mason was asked not to renew her contract in Mamma Mia!, I can't imagine she'd be returning any time soon.
#17re: re: Karen Mason
Posted: 7/24/03 at 3:11pmThe show has a habit of doing this... Even the fabulous Louise Pitre was not asked to renew this year, along with everyone else except Joe Machota and Adam LeFevre. It would seem that Amy isn't a big Mason fan, too bad for her... she's missing out!
