Here is the article for the play Karen Ziemba is doing this coming fall in the Washington DC area. Sorry if this has been posted already. Usually the Rathinator is up on this stuff, but I didn't see anything.
Doesn't she look hot in that picture?

While I enjoy Ms. Ziemba I don't know that I would ever put hot with her name unless she is entering menopause. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree...
I love her, though! And she does look especially pretty in that picture.

Do you ever contribute anything intelligent?

Anyone ever see her picture in Playboy 21 years ago? She was in the October 1984 issue titled "Babes of Broadway".
I don't care what you guys say, she looks pretty damn fine in that picture.
Thanks, Fish. I was out at a rehearsal - I knew this was going to be announced sometime this week.
Now you all know why she left PIPPIN. The time has come for her to show off her acting chops and originate a role in a straight play.

she's already originated a role in a straight play
House and Garden at MTC
I stand corrected. Thank you for the clarification.
She still has to fight to be seen as a "straight" actor though, so this is more of a career-progressing move than Fastrada would have been.

She's not originating the role. Erin Dilly originated the role when LEADING LADIES played in Cleveland and Houston last year. (And Karen's great, but Erin's performance will be hard to beat.)
I note that Lacey Kohl is the only person repeating her part from the original cast (which included Brent Barrett, Jane Connell, Mark Jacoby and Dan Lauria).
Oh, BTW... it's a really funny show.

You can see Karen's Playboy pic on my Fan Photos page.
Valentine, this is a bit of a different production, I believe the director is even new - you can check your old program and let me know, but this is being directed by Mark Rucker.
Obviously it's not exactly the same if they are casting Karen in a role that Erin Dilly played. It's certainly not the same as taking over a role on Broadway. "Originating" might be too generous, but she still will be starting from scratch in most ways.

Well, of course she'll be starting from scratch; I never implied that she would be patterning her performance on Erin's in any way. What I wrote was that Karen will be playing a role that Erin originated. Which is true.

I saw the Alley production, and I'm almost positive it was directed by Ludwig himself. I suspect having someone other than the author directing this production will make a difference. I really enjoyed the show except for the 2 opening scenes. They were needed to set up the plot, but they seemed to drag on and on. I haven't read about Ludwig making any changes, but I hope he did some revising on the opening.
Zack
Karen Ziemba rocks, quite simply.
If you've seen her in any production anywhere, she exudes sexiness, personality and star quality, and I've no doubt she will at any age. Just like Chita Rivera, this woman will be hot until she drops over dead.
Some people got it, and some don't. It has nothing to do with physical looks (although Karen has one of the best pair of legs in the industry), it has to do with "putting it over."
And this girl "puts it over" big time.
Signed,
A true fan
Best12bars, I think you and I are soulmates.
Still one of the best pairs of legs on any stage.
