hey. no kate is not leaving the show. she is just taking her vacation week. she will be back after that week is over.

From what I hear, Kate was going to take her vacation in August, but only one girl can be out at a time and someone else was scheduled for vacation and she couldn't take it then, so it was either wait until September or take it now. I don't think there is any drama or problems with it and it's always fun to see a fresh take on a role.

Curtainpulldowner, I've never heard that rule and will take your word for it.

But in any case, I assume everyone is on contracts that started when the show was in San Fran, not when it opened in New York. That was January...so 6 months is July...and this isn't even the first cast member vacation!

I'm not sure that Curtainpulldowner is interpreting the Equity rulebook the way it's intended. My understanding is that, if actors want to take vacation during the first 12 weeks of the show, they have to get permission from the producers in order to do so -- they are not entitled to take vacation during that time and have to ask for special permission. However, if it's okay with the producers, the actors can take vacation whenever they want to -- Equity is not stopping them from doing so. The six month rule has to do with accumulation of vacation time (one week every 6 months).

I saw Michelle Kittrell as Pilar, Tracy Jai as Serena and Leslie Kritzer as Paulette. Reviews are on the board if you search.

Jason Gillman was recently on for Richard H. Blake and Kevin Pariseau has been on for Michael Rupert, but the major girl leads have all had spectacular attendance.

Kate will be the first one out for an extended period of time.

i went this thursday july 5th and i was surprised there was no understudies. The cast has great chemistry so i am not surprised if the understudies are great also.

She will be out from Tues july 10th until tues July 17th. by the way they dont have shows on mon,and tues they are dark.

Hope she has a good vacation, and i agree first person we hear to have a vacation or not a one ot two perforances out.

I loved Gaelen as Mayzie in the Cathy Rigby tour of Seussical. She was excellent.
