Actually, I kid, but I do remember a wonderfully self-effacing song she did on Letterman several years ago that won me over. If I can score a comp, I'll totally be there.

Another Annie, Kathie Lee ... there are just so many reasons to stay away from MSG this Christmas Season.

Honey, people are so desperate to spend as little time as possible with their kids, so events like these will continue to flourish. Just like all the kids DVDs, video games, you name it--anything to avoid actual human interaction.

As much as I dislike "Annie," Kathie Lee as Miss Hannigan would make me want to see it. Can't wait to hear how she does.

Will it be pared down to 1 1/2 hours or will it be the full production ?
I think Rosie would be a great Hannigan as she is not endearing herself on the view from what I hear .

I saw PETER PAN at the Theater last year. Although the production was quite good, it was a horrible venue to enjoy musical comedy in.

Dolly, you aren't a child lover ? That is not PC you know
By the way, feel the same. The thought of seeing Mary Poppins with a gazillion kids in attendance has me on edge. Maybe a night performance may lessen the blow

OMG, speaking of Chitty. The audience of brats at the final performance was beyond horrendous.
Mr. Roxy, where are you hearing stuff about Rosie and The View?

I don't know why people hate ANNIE. If you strip away all the pre-conceptions and sit down and really take in the show as it is, it's quite good.

Annie? Seriousely? It's better than Grese, but it's so godawful!

The show, as originally presented, was quite enjoyable.

How is ANNIE god-awful? It's a hell of a lot better than most of the dreck that has appeared on Broadway in the last 10 years.

Munk, Annie happened to be my first Broadway show, and I was completely mesmerized from the get go. The book, the score, the sets, performances, etc., all added up to a wonderful afternoon. I still have my playbill and ticket stub from that day (1/15/197
. The '97 revival on the other hand, was absolutely awful.

I too feel for Arlene Robertson, I do hope she is being compensated for stepping aside during this stop.

Speaking of Rosie...I actually think a play version based on her life would be semi-interesting...wasn;t something like that in the works...but that is so off topic for the gifford little girls thread.

Well, there was talk of bringing a musical version of her book to Broadway, starring Cyndi Lauper. But I don't think anything ever came of it.
